It's here - the final block in our year-long journey. What a blessing this has been to me, and I hope for you also! Jenny always has the best ideas.
It's been an amazing journey, as well - at least for me. I think I told you before that I had these blocks done by last December...and every month, as they came up, they were always applicable to what was going on with my family and me. Some more so than others!
My prayer this month is that if you haven't opened that door to Jesus, you soon will.....that you will taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalms 34:8
The pattern is available free from my craftsy shop, just click here:
Jenny's exquisite version:
You'll have to go to her blog to see the gorgeousness of what she made with it! Jenny of Elefantz
I do hope you've enjoyed this journey with us. It's been a very busy year for me, and sometimes the only project I got done all month was my postcard, but that was enough. I can't wait to get all my postcards put together into a quilt - I'll share that with you too! And hopefully tomorrow, I'll be able to share a finish with you -
I actually had my sewing machine out today!!!!!!! Can you believe it!!!!
See you soon, precious friends - be blessed.
Love,
Allie
What a sweet happy life it is!

I've done mine, of course, in redwork....
And used the King James scripture.

I truly love this verse, and this month's design. I'm sure you will too!!!
As always, be blessed as you stitch.....

Postcards From Heaven, Block 10, October
Can you believe it's October????
Time for our Postcard!!! This month it's my turn, and let me tell you, we serve an awesome God.....I drew this last December. God knew how much I would need this verse, this month, with mum going in for surgery. Is that not too awesome for words?
Today, we signed the papers giving me power of attorney for medical decisions for mum, not an easy thing to do, and something I never would have thought of - but the hospital seems to think of everything. She and I had a very serious conversation this afternoon, about her wishes; something we've joked about in the past, and it ended again in laughter today. It was pretty much decided that it's in God's hands, and we'll cross that bridge if we come to it.
We can only be serious for a very short time, lol. Mum and I are alike in that - we prefer to laugh, because it's all temporary anyway, and we know God will guide us. Remember this is the woman who would "rather giggle than google". How very dear she is to me! And how terribly unconcerned she is about it all. Truly God has given her the peace that passeth all understanding...
Download Block 10 from my craftsy shop -
Jenny's gorgeous version.
Exquisite, as usual. If you prefer to use Jenny's more conversational style wording, you can download it from her blog here: Jenny of Elefantz
Someday I must make these again, using Jenny's lovely style. By the way - when I went to upload the pattern, craftsy had changed EVERYTHING!!!! I forgot my password so had to reset that, and then learn to navigate the new site - but you know, I think it's better!! Except, you might have to go to page two of my designs to find the new postcard - there is a little tab at the top to change the sorting to "newest first".
And now a word about blogging - it's going to be a very busy weekend here, and surgery is scheduled for Tuesday morning. I'll be spending the night at the hospital after the surgery, they have a hotel right in there! I doubt I'll have time to blog, and I won't have my laptop with me. I'll be able to post from my phone on facebook, so if you follow me there, you'll probably see updates on mum. She'll be in there 7-10 days, it's not close to me so most of my time will be spent either at the hospital or traveling to and from. I'll try to update the blog later in the week, and let you know how she goes. Oh my precious friends, we covet your prayers....
Take time to laugh this weekend with those you love. I said with them, not at them.....
Love,
Allie

Block 9, Postcards From Heaven, September
This month, Jenny has designed the most gorgeous postcard for you -
and a bonus project!!! A free mini-quilt, that you can use on any of the postcards! How sweet is that!
Go check out her post, she has added the sweetest touches to this beautiful postcard. Links to the postcard and bonus project are on her blog, Jenny of Elefantz.
I love this verse - no matter what's going on in my life, I'm not alone, God hears me. He has promised that He will hear me.
I've done mine in redwork, adding a frame, as I'm going to put all my blocks into a quilt.
I also use the KJ text for my wording. I've uploaded the pattern for my wording, and the frame, to my craftsy shop - Allie-oops Designs.
I stitch using one or two strands. Hearken is stitched with two, the rest of the wording with one strand.
How precious is that little basket of flowers!!!! Please disregard that little bit of fluff.
In other Allie-news, mum had her heart cath yesterday, and she did great. Arteries are clear, and the surgery is all systems go. They went in through the groin, and she was supposed to take it easy for 3 days - but coming home, we tried to get her up the front steps, she was leaning heavily on my arm and took me right to the ground, at which point she went down on top of me. We tried to get up, but were laughing so hard [while groaning in pain]....no telling what the neighbors thought! Praise God she didn't start bleeding where they did the catheter. And yes, we're still laughing about it, nursing our wounds, lol...
Be blessed my friends, enjoy stitching this beautiful block....
Love,
Allie

Postcards From Heaven, Block 8
Time for the August block of our Postcards From Heaven - are you ready?
I wasn't sure I'd get this one finished in time, with the move and all, but I made it! Whew!
As always, I've used the KJ bible.
Two strands of embroidery floss for the frame, one strand for everything else.
And of course the day I take pics, it's cloudy.
Jenny's gorgeous version.
She'll have a link on her site to the alternate words she uses. Click here: Jenny of Elefantz
Download your free postcard here: Allie-oops Designs
We do try to coordinate our posts, but with a 14 hour time difference it can get difficult, so patience if her post isn't up yet.
Moving is going well, work on the old house is not, but we'll get there. The neighbors remain friendly.
Be blessed -
Love,
Allie

Postcards From Heaven, News
Hi everyone, I'm still in the process of moving in, although I've been here a week and a half. But - the sewing room is together, I'll have pics very soon. Sewing room and kitchen - most important.
Jenny has been very, very sick, and had to take some time off blogging and stitching. She's now uploaded block 7 of our Postcards From Heaven, although she's still recovering!! I also told her to add the link to my KJ version, so you can get that on her blog as well. I simply haven't had the time to upload it to my craftsy shop. The link is here: Jenny of Elefantz
Jenny's gorgeous design:
And my KJ version:
Head on over to Jenny's and get your free design - and don't forget to say a prayer for her!
And now I need to go figure out why my washing machine sounds like the drum is going to break right out and go flying across the room - I'm a little scared to go look. See you soon!
Love,
Allie

Postcards From Heaven, Block 6, June
It's time for our June block of Postcards from Heaven! Another of my favorite scriptures - I have a lot of favorites, lol.
Are you a morning person? I am not...been a night owl since birth. I do, however, love getting up around 4am, and get going on my day - but it hardly ever happens. How well do you wake up? I usually stumble around, looking for coffee and trying to remember how to make it, and wondering if I'm supposed to be somewhere. With, you know, actual clothing on. Clothing that isn't jammies. It takes half a pot of coffee before I'm truly joyful, I'm afraid!
Jenny's gorgeous block -
How I love her style! Jenny will be uploading the alternate wording to her blog, so go check it out once her post is up - we try to coordinate our uploads, but there is a 10 hour difference in time to deal with, so please be patient with us! Click >>HERE<< for her blog.
As usual, I've used the King James Bible for my scripture reference. You can get this month's postcard from my craftsy shop, just click >>HERE<<.
Be blessed as you stitch!!
Love,
Allie

Postcards From Heaven, Block Five, May From Jenny
It's time for another free block from our Postcards From Heaven BOM! This month is Jenny's, and it's another gorgeous design from her.
How stunning is that! Don't you just love the colors, and of course that our Lord gives us sweet rest to rejuvenate our minds and bodies. I remember reading a very old Christian book - by Hannah Whitall Smith - where she said we can rest in Jesus as easily as we rest our tired bodies on our mattresses. We don't lay there awake all night, worried that our mattress will drop us on the floor, we just relax all of our muscles and trust that our beds will hold us up. In the same way, our Lord and Savior holds us up, and we can trust that He will never let us fall. I've never forgotten that!!
My version, of course, is in redwork -
I've used scripture from the King James Bible, and stitched everything, using either one or two strands.
Get the design from Jenny's blog and craftsy shop - just click >>HERE<<.
If you would also like to use the King James scripture, I've uploaded a file to my craftsy shop with the words only. You can get that >>HERE<<.
It is our hope and prayer that you are blessed as you stitch these promises from our Lord. A gift from our heart, to your hearts.
Love,
Allie

Postcards From Heaven BOM, April Block 4
Time again for another new block in our Postcards From Heaven BOM!! This month is my month, and it really hits home for me [no pun intended....well....maybe a little bit].
As you know, we're house-hunting. It's not a lot of fun, really. Especially when you see something perfect and someone gets there first. But, we have hope....
Someday, I'll have the perfect forever home, prepared for me by Jesus Himself. Now that is something to look forward to!
And look how gorgeous Jenny's block for April is!!!
Head on over, she'll be posting soon. It's hard to coordinate our posts when we're so far away - she's something like 10 hours ahead of me! Click >>HERE<< for her blog!
How are you coming with your postcards? Have you started stitching yet? I've seen some really wonderful versions around blogland. As always, I hope this is a blessing for you!
You can pick up your free block from my craftsy store, click >>HERE<< - enjoy!!

Postcards From Heaven, Block 3, BOM
It's Jenny's month to gift you a Postcard! And it's a beauty!
Gorgeous, yes? I love all the added touches she does. Nobody stitches quite like Jenny!
I've chosen to do my blocks in redwork -
And also, to use the King James bible verses exactly, while Jenny is paraphrasing to be more like a conversation between Father and daughter. That means you get a choice - you can use either! Get over to Jenny's blog and download Block 3 HERE. If you want to use the King James, you can download my version [words ONLY] from my craftsy shop HERE. We would dearly love to see your finished blocks, so email either one of us with your pics!
Be blessed!!!

Allie

Postcards From Heaven, Block 2, February
Are you ready for Block 2 in our Postcards From Heaven? It's ready for you! I have to confess, when I drew this up, I didn't even think of Valentine's Day...but I think a heart is appropriate, don't you?
1 John 4:19 We love him, because he first loved us.
In the pattern, I explain that I used "alway" as does the King James Bible. However, Jenny used "always", and I give you the option in the pattern - I've added the "s" for you in the second version.
Jenny's version, oh so beautiful!!!
I just love her soft colors, and those beads!!!
As you can see, I picked out my red fabrics - aren't they pretty??? I'm still not sure how I'm going to put it all together, but there's plenty of time. It will probably be simple, because that's how I roll. Maybe a frame of each postcard in the red dot, and wide sashing of the red and white, then the red dot for binding. We'll see.
You can get your postcard from my craftsy shop, just click >>HERE<<
Be blessed!!
Love,
Allie

Posctcards From Heaven, Alternate Words
A few folks left a comment on my last post, about using the King James scripture on the Postcards From Heaven blocks. Jenny and I talked it over, and we decided that it would be fine for me to upload the words I'm using to my craftsy shop - not the design part, as I feel that would infringe on her copyright, only the words. If you wish to use the KJB words also, you can trace them after you trace Jenny's design. I also added the frame I'm using for the postcards, in case you want to use that as well.
You can find the design in my shop, click >>HERE<<
Make very sure that you print it at ACTUAL SIZE - I printed it out in a hurry, and it didn't come out the right size - when I did it again, I noticed that it was set to print to "fit", and that won't come out right!
And now a word about commenting. I reply to every single comment left on my blog, as I love my readers, but if you're a no-reply blogger I can't!! I get email notification of your comments, and can reply right away through email, but lots of you are now on google+ and there's no way for me to email you, or even comment on your blogs. That's a problem I found early on with google+, and why I won't use it.
So if you've left a comment, first of all, THANK YOU! Second, I'm so sorry that I can't reply to you. If you did leave a comment and got no reply to it, please leave your email in your comment so I can thank you personally. Blogging is all about friendships, and I always feel like a bad friend when I can't email you.
I hope you're all having a beautiful Sunday, I'm still recuperating from hours and hours at IKEA yesterday - oh my aching feet!!!

Postcards From Heaven, Block One
Yay, it's time! Are you ready for the sweetest EVER bom??? Jenny has uploaded the first block!
Shamelessly stolen from Jenny's blog, as her pics are so much better than mine.
"Postcards From Heaven" is a collaborative effort by me and Jenny Reynolds, of Elefantz fame. We're tag-teaming designs - Jenny is January, I'm February, etc. Each month you'll get a free design to stitch, and our hope and prayer is that it blesses you as much as it has us!
My big goal for the coming year is to walk closer with the Lord, to grow in grace, to know Him better - and to remember His promises. This is such a fine way to do that! Jenny has made her design into a small quilt, while I'll be adding mine all together into a bigger quilt.
Jenny has all the information on her blog, so please click over and see! Click >>HERE<<.
I'm planning on doing all the designs in redwork. I haven't chosen my sashing fabric yet - normally I choose my fabric first, then the floss, but I'm doing things backward this time. One thing I'm doing a little different from Jenny, is that I'm using scripture from the King James bible. Also, I'm stitching a border around mine - to look more like a postcard in the bigger quilt that I'll be making. The frame will be on all of my patterns, you can use it or disregard it, your choice.
Please forgive the awful picture - it's winter here and there's no light! See why I used Jenny's picture???
I've also chosen to stitch everything, while Jenny has left the small bits unstitched, but drawn on with a permanent pen. [Tiny bits to stitch can be intimidating!] I've used one strand of floss for the words, except "I" and "everlasting", one strand for the postmark lines, and two strands for everything else.
So while our projects may look different, they have the same heart. We wanted to show you, also, that you can make this project your own, use your imagination! Do send us your pictures, we would love to see them.
Also, don't forget, Jenny has another free BOM starting January 5th -
You won't want to miss that one either!!!
