Labor Day

Good afternoon dear friends!  We are having a gorgeous September day here, a holiday, and I'll be messed up on what day it is for the rest of the week.  Today feels like Sunday - I have to keep reminding myself it's not.

My move into my new art studio went very well.  Would you like to see some pictures?  It's very sparse...this is the north wall, looking in from the door.  Did I also mention it's very small?

This is the east and partial south wall.

South wall and door.

Closet wall - this needs work.

The closet is missing a door, and also the slats that go across the top.  At least I have my little snack cart within reach!

AND, my "art cart" is also within reach.  I purely love this little cart - it's adjustable, you can make the baskets straight up and down, or completely horizontal.  Amazing.

I wanted it very simple, uncluttered, easy to clean.  The closets are almost empty (just as well, they need a lot of work).  The views out the windows are nothing spectacular while I'm standing, but when I'm sitting down I feel like I'm in a treehouse!  Lots of treetops and sky.

Both of those pictures were taken standing up; normally I don't see buildings or fences.  It's insanely peaceful here, great cross-breezes, a very pleasant place to be.

Hopefully this will spur me on my art journey - now I just have to clean out the old sewing room and help my son move all his extra stuff into it!  I must say that this is not a new sewing room, I've given up sewing and quilting.  If I do need to do some sewing, there's always the kitchen table and my featherweight.  I'm keeping to one purpose for this room.

So in celebration of my move, I'm uploading some more embroidery files for you.  Well, I would upload them anyway, but if we can make a party out of it, why not?  Here you go, click on the title to download the pdf.

And there are so many more to come!  Fortunately, my wi-fi works great up here, I had been worried about that - but all is well.  Take care dear friends, see you soon!

Love,
Allie

Hi Allie. It looks like a lovely room and I'm sure you'll love being there. I love your art cart. It's so versatile. I'm surprised you have given up sewing and quilting but at least you're still being creative. Say hi to your mom.

Your window view is stunning, grassy area, trees, sunlight and shade, the perfect room for some time to be yourself and start the projects you have dreamed about. Love it all,

Yay Allie! Making progress. And I hope this helps with the noise from the neighbors.

Your sewing space looks fantastic. Lot's of lovely light in there too. Love your snack cart idea. I think I need one of those in my sewing room too :)

You're art studio is amazing! I know you'll be super inspired there, Allie. And hon, it's a bigger room than my sewing studio, and you have a view! All I can see from my window is a fence just four feet away.
But I am ever so grateful for my little space to design and sew; just as I know you are grateful for yours to paint and draw. :-)
Love you my friend! xx

I love the simple elegance of your "room with a view" art room. One can't help but be inspired by God's world.

I want one of those art carts. Where did you find it?

Your sewing and embroidery room seems like a paradise to me. And it is not small !!! The views are a dream for me. When I look up from my sewing and look out the window ... I see my neighbor from the building across the street in a nightgown !!! And that's not always good, LOL.
Thank you very much for sharing, a hug. -Greetings to your mom.

Your room looks wonderful and great view with the trees. I have the same thing from my Windows, sitting down, all you can see are the trees.

I love #14. It's a variation on one of my favorite scriptures about the mercies of the Lord. Thanks, Allie! Your room looks like it will provide a lot of inspiration.

Your new space looks great! I’m sure the move and “refresh” will inspire your creativity! Good for you, to say farewell to some crafts for now. I have thought about getting rid of my papercrafting…maybe?! Enjoy your new art studio and its lovely, peaceful views!
