June

June is such a brilliant time to be alive.  Flowers.  Butterflies.  Bird song and green leaves and sunshine and fawns.

It's good to find joy in what you can, in such a time of shaking.  The world is upside down, but we are not.

(Romans 5:1-2) "Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:  {2} By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God."

(1 Corinthians 16:13) "Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, quit you like men, be strong."

(Ephesians 6:13) "Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand."

(John 14:1) "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me."

(John 14:27) "Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid."

Such consolation we have in His word.  An antidote for sure to the news screaming for our attention all day long!

I have been very quiet on this blog, mainly because I've been busy finishing up my Applique Club, and working on the quilt from my best friend.  July's patterns are written, the issue is ready - and it is the last one.  It's been quite a year!

July's patterns -

They will go out on June 30th, and your subscriptions will be cancelled automatically, you won't have to do a thing.

This will mark my retirement from pattern-making.  I have no idea what's next....but I am looking forward to it.

I bought myself a much nicer comfy chair to sit and quilt in.

Oops, forgot to take the plastic off the bottom of the chair!  It reclines, and swivels, so I don't have to push the footstool away.  I actually bought it online, from Wayfair, which was scary - but you know, it fits me so perfectly!  The lumbar hits at just the right spot, as does the head rest.  Amazing.  It's not a large chair - probably not good for a six foot man - but perfect for me.

Mum is doing well, her finger is still swollen but the pain has subsided.  Each of your joints has a capsule around it, filled with fluid, and sometimes that fluid can become inflamed and get very overfilled and painful - that's what happened to her finger.  I had it happen to a toe one time, after six weeks on crutches I went and had a shot in the joint - oh my.  I don't blame her for not wanting that.  She opted to wait it out, and it's working.  She's almost back to normal.  We really, really appreciate all of your prayers.

My guys are all back to work.  Life is slowly returning to normal, except I'm still avoiding the grocery stores and waiting for some things to come back into stock.  How is life in your neck of the woods?

My prayer is always for you, that you stay well, healthy, and strong in the Lord.  He is our Rock and the God of our salvation.

Love,
Allie

(Hebrews 12:22-29) "But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels,  {23} To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect,  {24} And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel.  {25} See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven:  {26} Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven.  {27} And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.  {28} Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:  {29} For our God is a consuming fire."

Hungry, hungry ducklings

Oh, leaning on God’s Word is the very best place to rest...Thank you for that. John 14:27 is one of my memory verses. What I find amazing is that Jesus is not simply leaving us with peace, but giving us HIS peace. 🙏 Love your new chair! Take care, sister....

Good to see you here again Allie and I am glad Mum is doing OK. I must say it sounds very painful. Your chair looks extremely comfortable! Oh the fawns - so gorgeous, and the beautiful butterfly. With the world going mad it's good to have nature to focus us. Stay safe and well. xx

Glad to know you are alive and well. I have missed getting your blog news. I noticed your comment on Jenny of Elefantz's blog. I am glad your mother's finger is healing. Also that you found a chair the fits and is comfortable. I have been going once a week to help my sister since her double mastectomy a couple months ago. This last Sunday she sent me home because she was not feeling well. This week she found out she tested positive for the Covid-19 virus. I had to go and get tested, but mine came back as negative. I still have to quarantine for 14 days since I was exposed. I have been quarantining anyway as I didn't want to risk getting it and infecting her. I to have trouble focusing on anything for very long. But God is good and I trust in him.

Sounds like your mom sort of had gout in her finger. I will be sad to see the end of the club, but happy for you to have time to move on with something else you want to do. Here's another one that fits with the verses you gave: Psalm 91:1-6, especially vs. 4. =)

May your retirement from pattern making be blessed by God, and may He lead in the future!

I love your new chair, Allie and I do so appreciate your prayers. I was having a tough day today with all the Covid noise. So much contradiction - so much pain. I know God is bigger than it all...and I must listen for his voice over all the rest. Stay well and I hope your mom is better soon. Praying for her ♥

Things sure are beautiful in your neighborhood. And you continue to add to the beauty with your wonderful patterns. I am glad the chair is comfortable. It is scary sometimes to buy things online not knowing if they will work out. I am glad it did.

Sorry I’m so late visiting! No excuses. Love your new chair and all your June pictures. Glad Mum is doing okay. Things in Texas aren’t so good, but we’re hanging in there! Avoid going out as much as possible. Just stay home, see, read, do occasional housework...you know the drill! Stay sweet! XO
