Happy Little Things BOM - Borders and Finishing + Giveaway!

Can you believe we're at the border and finishing stage of this BOM?  So fun!  I've been doing some big-stitch quilting -

because my borders have been on for awhile.  I really love how fast hand-quilting with a big stitch is!

My borders are done differently than in your instructions, I decided I'd make a table runner and just added strips of fabric in a willy-nilly fashion, making all blocks the same size.

I wanted a table runner for my foyer table.

As you can see, I'm not done quilting yet.  I used all fabrics by Kim Diehl, love her lines.  No pictures of it on my foyer table - hubby's desk is behind it, and it's never picture-worthy.  MEN.

All I did for my borders was add strips in a log cabin fashion, then stitched the blocks together.  I love it.  It's exactly what I wanted and it fits my table perfectly.  It's a long, skinny table, ideal for laying packages and library books on.

i have a long skinny table, too - but the mess behind it is Melissa's and it is never picture-worthy, either. ADULT CHILDREN.(ha ha ha!!!)

I have a longish table on castors, given to me by a very dear friend many years ago,This design would be perfect. My MESS is everywhere at the moment, roll onto March when it should all be done, and I can find fabric again.

I love yours. And I'd still love to see it on your table. I'm used to messy piles. We have them everywhere. I still need to get back to my quilt. Life hit and it hit hard. My little family took a boulder sized hit and then the holidays came so sewing anything for fun came to a halt. After I finish making a few gift I'm getting back to some me time.

It may be just the way it shows on my monitor, but your big stitches look like what my small stitches are :-) I like the colors and the way you bordered the blocks.

I like your big stitch quilting! But that just looks like way too many safety pins to me! You must quilt without a hoop.
