Happy Little Things BOM Block 4 And Giveaway!

Welcome to block 4 of Happy Little Things by Jacquelynne Steves!  Click on her name to go to her post!

I must say, after doing block 3, this one was a breeze to put together!  I went ahead and cut my pieces ahead of time, which I prefer not to do as I like scrappy - but it worked so well.
Also, with the half rectangle triangle units this time, I discovered a better way to cut the freezer paper - iron it to a piece of scrap fabric first, then cut it to size.  MUCH easier!
Before trimming the freezer paper -

After trimming the freezer paper -

As I’ve said before, I’m really not a piecer.  Throughout making these blocks, I kept the instructions right by my side, kept the tv off, and just paid very close attention.  They’re not difficult blocks – if I, who is piecing challenged, can get them done, then don’t be afraid of them!  And for those of you who can do these with your eyes closed, my hat is off to you.  The whole reason I started designing my own patterns was because I have trouble following one, lol.  But I did it, and I’m so glad, I love the finished project – thank you Jacquelynne!!!

I've turned mine into a table runner, and I love it!

And now the moment you've been waiting for, the giveaway -

Morse Code Quilts by Sarah J. Maxwell, and a sweet package of pins from Just Another Button Company!

This giveaway will run until Sunday November 10, at which time I'll pick a winner by random number generator and email her!  To enter, just leave me a comment with your email address - if I can't contact you, you won't be able to win!  I'll also need you to respond within 48 hours to my email if you win, otherwise I'll have to pick another winner - that has happened TWICE.

Scroll to the bottom of this post, click on "comments" and leave your comment to win!

The giveaway is open to U.S. and international residents!  One prize per person per giveaway.

You have seven other chances to win, you know - visit these other blogs and enter to win there!  Click their names to be taken to their blogs!

I wish you all the best in the giveaways - and don't forget to show your finished blocks on Jacquelynne's facebook group, SewQuiltyFriends!!!  See you soon!

Love,
Allie

Your blocks are lovely. I am using older Thimbleberries in mine...I had already thought about turning my blocks into a runner and placemats (if I make an extra block). I'll wait to see what Jacquelynne's set-up is. Your piecing looks quite nice. I hope you keep it up! They make such a nice frame for your beautiful embroidery. God Bless...thanks for a chance to win.

I love seeing the different ways all of the bloggers interpreted the blocks. It's a great example of how we can always make a design our own if we let ourselves play.

I love your runner and beautiful piecing, something I really need to work on.
I have enough things I still need to make, so I don't need to enter.

Aren't table runners great? So useful, and so pretty, and so easily changeable. Makes all this creating seem very "functional". :) Your runner looks wonderful, Allie. Just in time for an autumn table.

I have troubles with piecing blocks too. I get easily confused. I reread the instructions over and over again. I think thats one reason I love hand appliqué so much.
