Is It Nap Time Yet?

Well, I finally get to spend a day at home, and I have no idea where the hours went.  I got up, answered a few emails, and dove into sorting fabric, looking for batiks...

Nope, not there - that's the 30's pile.  Somebody better get busy so I can make some baby quilts.  You know who you are.

Found a few - but mostly solids and novelty fabrics, although you can't see the couch and floor piled with the rest of them.  I did finally find them, got everything else sorted and into totes, then remembered I needed some autumn tone fabrics.  Which means opening the 10 totes of novelty fabrics....I could cry.

One thing on my Christmas list is the Billy bookcases at Ikea, with doors.  I think they might work to sort fabrics so I can find them without straining my back lifting totes.  Do you use shelves to store your fabrics?  Does it work well for you?

It's been such a busy week, I've had no time for actual sewing.  Sunday my son and I went to Ikea, out to lunch, antiqueing and then the grocery store.  We have this awesome store near us that is half antiques, half crafts, you can get a booth there to sell crafts...

One of my favorite booths -

We had great fun.  Naturally everything I wanted cost the earth, lol, and I honestly don't need more stuff!  It takes hours to go through it all, our feet still hurt.

Now that I have my tables cleared off, and can walk through my sewing room again, I think I'll fuse some batiks - I'm working on a pattern for September's Applique Club.  As much as I love summer, I'm looking forward to decorating my house with autumn colors.  Remember, if you want to get in on August's patterns, you have until tomorrow night at midnight to sign up!  Click here >  Applique Club, scroll down, and click subscribe.

Leaving you with a picture of mum from yesterday....somehow we always end up having tea at my house, no matter what we have going on that day!

cracks me up how big her hands look....

See you soon!!!!!

Allie

Keeping Me Busy

Good Wednesday morning, lovely friends.  I've hardly been around lately, and I thought I would show you what's been keeping me away.

my last picture of my bff

Before my best friend Cathy passed, she had come over so I could help her baste a quilt.  It was a gift for a wedding.  Well, she passed before it could be quilted, so I am going to finish it up for her - it's so large I decided to hand quilt it, as the arthritis in my neck won't allow me to machine quilt big quilts anymore.  There's another one just like it that she pieced for her daughter, I'll be hand quilting that one as well.

I'm also still helping out with her house, they're going to have an estate sale next week.  They've been very fortunate in already selling the house.  An answered prayer.

Last night, all my neighbors and I went to city hall, to block a proposed senior care facility built onto a house in our little neighborhood.  Right in the middle of the block.  We won!  It would change the neighborhood dramatically, and we like our little "country in the city" neighborhood just the way it is.  There are tons of other sites he could use.  Yay for us!

Jacquelynne has done a post this morning on all the bloggers participating in her new upcoming BOM, Happy Little Things, and is having another give-away - go enter!  There are awesome bloggers participating in this!  Click here:>  Meet the Bloggers

The last thing keeping me so busy is my new Applique Club - I'm already working on September's designs!!

Calendar Bird BOM

Poor little birdie wants his legs put on!  Jenny mentioned to me that I'd forgotten to show you up close pictures of August's designs, yikes, so I'll rectify that right now....

My first time doing big-stitch quilting - I love it!!!!

Today I'm off to run mum around, she's almost out of insulin and we can't let that happen!  I'm hoping to get some quality time with my sewing machine tonight....I hope you get to spend time with yours as well!
See you soon!

Allie

Introducing The Applique Club

If you've been following me for awhile, you'll know all about the Craftsy/Bluprint debacle, and how I had to quit selling patterns due to not finding a shop I was comfortable with.  I still haven't....but months ago, the Lord gave me an idea, and I've been steadily working towards a new goal; and now it's time to share it with you.

A monthly subscription club, with two patterns plus a Calendar Bird Block of the Month, beginning August 1, 2019.

I've added a new page, up just below my header, that explains everything - but I'll tell you here too.  Every month, in your email inbox, you'll get two patterns for either a wall-hanging, table topper, table runner, etc.;  all will be small and all will be suitable for pre-cuts or scraps.  There will be Christian patterns, holiday or seasonal patterns, for keeping or gift-giving.  All will use fusible web for a quick finish, and I'll be doing most of them with machine applique simply because it's faster - no reason you can't hand applique!

The cost each month is $5.95 USD.  That's a darn good bargain!  All you have to do is subscribe, paypal automatically bills your credit card or paypal account each month, and your patterns are delivered right to your email inbox.  You can stay in your jammies for the whole process.  (My kind of shopping....)

As a thank you for subscribing, I'll email you this lovely joining gift within 24 hours of your subscription.

That picture shows it on my coffee table in the living room - really adds a necessary touch of color to that room!

You can join anytime - the cut-off each month for joining, to get the following month's patterns, is midnight of the last day of the month.  The patterns will be mailed on the first day of each month, my time - I'm in the Eastern time zone in the US.

So, if you'd like to get 2 new patterns plus the BOM each month, click here:

Scroll down to the subscribe button which will take you to paypal, and sign up!  I hope to see you there!

Love,
Allie

How About A Give-Away?

Have you signed up for Jacquelynne Steves' new BOM yet?

It's super cute!  I'm one of the participating bloggers, and will have posts showing my process during the whole BOM...so fun!

AND - Jacquelynne is having a give-away today!

The value of this package is over $80!!

Click here > Jacquelynne Steves and go enter!!!  She has really awesome sponsors for this BOM, there will be lots of give-aways throughout the whole thing - but don't take my word for it, go read it, lol!  I can't wait!

I've been super busy lately, working on something that will come to fruition shortly - hopefully by the end of the week.  Wait, that's only two more days!!  Yikes!  It has tested my faith, my abilities, my patience, and my sanity - but our God is faithful, and He has taught me so much through the whole process.  I can truly say that:

(2 Corinthians 12:9-10) "And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness.  Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.  {10} Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong."

Now go enter that give-away - I'll see you soon!!!

Love,
Allie
