Who Left The Fridge Door Open???

Autumn is officially here, and with it, cooler temps...I don't like it.  I love the colors of the trees, but I can do without the cold!

This is one of the stops on my route - you can just see one tree turning behind the others.

Up north, it's a riot of color.  Some trees down here have already lost their leaves - *sob*

I managed to get to ONE garage sale this season.  But oh, look what I found!!!!

This table is massive.  It has two drawers on each side, and it's on wheels, and it's solid wood.  It's almost as high as my waist.  It's my new cutting table!!  The guy wanted $100 for it, but I talked him down to $40...

Here it is with a chair in front of it, so you can see how high it is.

I might have to get a bar stool so I can sit at it as well.

GREAT for pinning quilts!!

No aching back.  That's one of the quilts that I'll be hand quilting this winter.  I found three, all vintage, all pieced by hand....I need to clean out my totes more often.

I also pulled out an old UFO, I believe it's from 2012 - a Homespun stitch-a-long.

This is only the second block!  Yes Wendy-girl, I'll finish it someday, lol - Wendy very kindly sent me the Homespun issue with the first block.  I love this project, it's the only one I've ever bought the floss for, following the designer's colors.

Ellen sent me some of the stripe for my pillows that she had left over -

Thank you so much Ellen, it's renewed my determination to get these made!  I can't wait to get started now!  I love that it's on the diagonal!

For those of you that have unsaved family members, I want to give you a word of encouragement.  Thursday evening, we had a Celebration of Life for my cousin.  He died the week before.  At the party, his son told me that he had accepted Christ 3 weeks before he died - it is never too late, don't ever give up praying!  As soon as we heard he was sick, that was the one big prayer we had for him.  Thank you Lord, we know he's safely with Jesus now!!  Don't. Give. Up.

Oddly enough, that night it was so warm, I had to wear a sleeveless top - and now we have this.

No wonder so many folks get sick this time of year!

I'll leave you with an astonishingly large spider web I spotted in a tree outside my sewing room window - I thought it was a clear plastic plate at first.

I do not want to meet whatever made that in the dark!

Be well, be happy....

Love,
Allie

Such a newsy post! Like me, you’ll just have to endure the seasons until summer rolls around again. Now that you have that new table, there are no more excuses! It’s a beauty, too! Um, that’s one major spider web there. I wonder if it was made by a massive spider. Looks like a classic Halloween decoration!

I just am really enjoying the cool, LOL!!! Only in the 50's here at night, so that is nice. Such a fun spider web...but I agree, I don't want to run into it at night!

What a beautiful table, look at the craftsmanship on the way the cross pieces fit together. Cold down here too, winter is having one last dance before the glad rags are put away.

I am happy with the cooler air, just not too cold, lol.
I love your table, mine is way too big and wide and takes up half the room, so thinking skinnier and I was thinking of having Bill make one with cabinets and then just put a top on those.

It's getting chilly here too - I have long sleeves and a sweater on top and am still shivering. The spiderweb photo is so pretty. Always lovely to look at, but not to walk into! As long as they are outside of course. Your table is great - it looks very functional and pretty to boot.

What a great table! Perfect for cutting. And PTL for your cousins decision. You are right,it is never too late. Remember the thief on the cross. Sorry about the cold. I am with you, I don't like the colder weather. Thankfully we are still nice and warm.

What a nice table! The height is great. I love the star quilt you have on it. When I lived in Holland I loved autumn with the leaves changing colour. Would go for walks in the woods. Here in the part of Greece I am living the forests are all pine trees. No colours, just green. Also nice but I miss the autumn leaves.

Allie, I love your new table. I can think of a million things I would use it for. It would also make a great kitchen island. The quilt you plan to hand quilt is wonderful. I want to do some more hand quilting this winter too. So sorry about your cousin, but so happy to hear he got saved before he died. We will see him in eternity, for sure! Cute embroidery and I am sure you will finish it in no time. Lovely fall colors your way.... enjoy!

Allie, I just love your new table, and for such a great price. You have lovely quilts and projects to keep you happily busy in these cool months ahead. We too had two super hot July-like days - and then 20 degrees cooler all of sudden. I love it though - I'm a cool weather girl, that would rather bundle up. We usually have long Fall months here, but the leaves are dropping fast. So sorry for the loss of your cousin, but so, so thankful at your happy news.

I want to go garage selling with you! You must be an excellent barginer! Beautiful table too. Perfect for a quilter. My family just experienced a huge miracle in so many ways, and prayer was the main factor in the out come. A family member with three types of cancer found A 100% match for her stemcell transplant & despite an anaphylactic reaction post transplant, near death, & graft vs. host reaction is now recovering and all looks good for a complete recovery. God is so very good & prayers do make a difference! I'm happy about your cousin.

Lovely post, and with the cooler temps that table will be put to good use.
I love your stitchery you'll be working on!!!!!
I had to chuuckle as that design really speaks to my heart as when I travel, I feel like I have everything packed just in case mind you and sometimes the kitchen sink it feels like, so this design is the cat's meow!

Who designed it? And could you show where it came fropm so I can try to hunt it down. Thanks
Jane

Great newsy post! This is the first year that I'm really enjoying the cooler weather. Probably has to do with all that humidity this summer. Love your new table. What a buy! It sure will help your back when cutting.

I know you said you are doing test driving but I pictured going around in a circle or oval. Evidently not.

It is getting cold around here too and I’ve already come down with a cold! The temperature changes are too hard for the body to keep up with!

That's a beautiful web! What an amazing spider it must be. I WOULD like to see it, but not run into its web. =) Your table was an incredible buy. With it that high, you're going to save your back a lot! Good luck with your new stitching project ... or UFO, whichever it is. It looks like it will be wonderful!
