Slow Saturday

Good morning everyone - I finally got to sleep in on a Saturday!!  No work today.

I've uploaded a new free pattern for you, I haven't stitched it yet.....it's a Scripture pattern.

I'm still really enjoying drawing, but not so much stitching.  The pattern is for the design only....no instructions.  The design size is 7" x 9 1/2", although you can enlarge [for applique] or shrink it.  I hope you like it.

Available in my shop for instant download:

I absolutely love this verse.  It reminds me that not only has God promised to never again destroy the earth with a flood, if floods do come (and they do, don't they - ) we'll not be overwhelmed.  We are safe in the ark which is Christ Jesus.  No matter what kind of storm rages around me, I am in Him and He has promised to keep me.

Not a whole lot has been happening.  Last week, I had to work on Labor Day, so we had a party on the Sunday before.  Saturday night before the party, we lost power - all that food in my fridge!!  Hubby plugged in the generator, and Sunday morning I called off the party - the temps were going to be in the 90's F, and the humidity was through the roof.  My aunt talked me into moving the party from 2pm to noon, and since the house was still fairly cool, we got started.  Just as everyone got here, the power came back - linemen are my heroes!!!

It's been so humid - this was my view one morning out my sewing room windows.

It wasn't raining - that was how humid it was.  The a/c was on in the house, all the condensation was outside!

Our friendly coyote is still hanging around, terrorizing the wildlife.

I look for him every morning when I leave for work, in the dark.....*shudder*

I'm still battling spiders - it's that time of year.  My decorating style has gone from Pleasantly Cluttered to Hotel Lobby.  I want nothing extra laying around.  You wouldn't believe how fast these things build webs....the quicker I can run the vacuum around, the better.  My stretchy vacuum hose is my new best friend.

That's it from me for now - be happy, be blessed!!
Love,
Allie

Thanks for the block design. I think it would look great as an applique. We're in for a rainy, cold few days here, following a heat wave. Last night in my sewing room, I saw what I thought was a thread knot on the floor start walking! Ewwww... I don't like spiders either. Fortunately, they're not a major problem here. Yet. I hope.

I like the design, I love scripture. We are having lots and lots of rain here and our power was off for six hours today. But, Yay, it's back on now.

Love your stitchery design. I have daddy long legs here that think they can make webs where ever they want. They are a harmless spider so i mostly leave them alone but other spiders get evicted quick smart. :). Hugs,xx

the humidity can be so draining.... easier to cope with a dry heat I think.... I get my home sprayed each year to stop the spiders.... and other bugs... I really don't like them in the house...

I love your design. Every time I see a rainbow in the sky, I am reminded of God's promise.

What a great design! We had a rainbow this week before a storm (weird but neat). Love that biblical verse! Coyote! Yikes!!! Be careful my friend!

Love your new stitchery. I didn't know you had a coyote in the area. Here's to the cooler weather we are now experiencing. I love it. Hugs

What a lovely scripture. You've a wise aunt to encourage you to continue on with your celebration with just a tweak....worked out well. Although we got a bit of a break from the humidity here in NC, its back now. This morn we are looking at cloudy skies....a good day to attack that blankety-blank paper work piled on my desk. Bleh. Have a super week, Hon.

I had a friend who used peppermint oil to repel spiders and it worked very well for her.
Lovely pictures. Thanks for sharing them.

I wish you well on your spider hunt. I usually let mine stay as Halloween decorations. Just kidding, mostly.

I'm glad you were able to have your party and that your A/C and electricity came back on in time. That looks like a lot of humidity!

I was getting ready to send a search party out looking for you. So good to hear from you again. I saw a rainbow this afternoon on my way in from visiting my daddy. We are expecting the hurricane this week and the farmers are harvesting corn just as fast as they can go. The rainbow in the sky made a beautiful setting, with a wonderful reminder from God. Yikes on that coyote.... be careful!

Wonderful design and message.
I wanted to do some drawing at camp, but never got anything done.
We finally cooled down drastically, but the humidity is coming back.

I love the new stitchery! When I was in Rainbow Girls (a LONG time ago) that was part of one of our speeches, so this cutie brings back lots of memories for me. Thank for this!

Thank you for a great block design and thought. That is a LOT of humidity - worse than Edi's in OH or mine in TN! I hope your weather is cooling off with that Canadian cold front, but doesn't get TOO cold yet!
