Almost Ready

Hi everyone!  Looks like google has maybe fixed the blogger problem, we'll see - an awful lot of folks still aren't getting notified of comments.

I'm going to add random Disney-esque wildlife shots, not much stitching to share.  Tomorrow, I'll be driving my oldest child to the airport, where he'll head off for Dallas for his birthday.  Still can't believe I won't see my baby on his birthday.  Mum and I are going to stay at his house while he's gone, to baby-sit his kitty Sophie, so be prepared for lots of kitty pics.

I've been packing up and preparing.  I have to take my own French press, the child has not bought a coffee pot.  The horror.  I don't know my own name without that first cuppa.

Oh the sniffs you can sniff!!!!!

I have been fusing pieces for my birds, I'd love to be able to just sit and stitch.

All the birds and branches are fused and cut out, just need to cut out all those leaves (what was I thinking?) before I can start fusing everything to the backgrounds.  I may not get that done before I leave, in which case I'll have to lug my iron over there.  He has my ironing board, but no iron.

I'll figure out the piecing part when I get back.

I'm going to miss seeing all the wildlife.  Wait, maybe not - I'll have a wild kitty to take care of.

I'm also bringing a whole bunch of books.  Mom will have charge of the remote, as I can't stand to watch tv, but we're also planning to run around town.  It's over where she grew up, and she loves to re-visit her old haunts.

I probably won't blog, but will be able to read blogs, yay!  Not many chores to be done, lol.  We're going to take it easy, do what we want, stay up all night if we want.  Now watch, I'll be up before the sun every day.

Y'all take it easy, make something lovely, and enjoy your week.  I'll see you soon.

Love,
Allie

Dear Allie, All of your nature pics are wonderful. All we get are squirrels and birds, which i thoroughly enjoy. We also get geckos but you have to be quick to spot them. The bird quilt looks like it will be beautiful. I am still working on the Garden of Contentment. I am then going to work on a handkerchief quilt that I will make up. With our last name we collect Borden milk memorabilia. I have had two Elsie and Beauregard handkerchiefs for some time. They made four of them and I always hoped I would be able to come across the other two. Last week on Ebay someone had all four of them up for auction. I stumbled onto the auction and picked all of them up for under nine dollars each. I have seen them go for as much as thirty five each. They came in the mail today and are beautiful. I don't think they were ever used, just need a good soak to get rid of age spots. By the time I finish the garden quilt and the handkerchief quilt I imagine you will have the bird quilt up. You can just keep me busy!I hope you have a wonderful week with your mother and Sophie.

Beautiful pictures Allie. I assume a French press is what we call a cafetiere?
Well I hope you and Mum have a great time. xx

What wonderful photos. That sniffy deer looks practically buried in grass! The first picture, before I scrolled down to see the whole thing, I thought was a lovely green batik that was! =) You and your mom are going to have quite a vacation! I hope it is/was fun!

Well I think you're going to make great progress on your birds and books! And maybe you should buy your son a coffee pot for his birthday gift :)

Looks like your African violets are doing great too Allie. Love the snippets of your birds we get to spy. And you and Mom having a girls getaway while helping out...should be fun. Safe driving and hope it is not as sweltering as what we are experiencing!
