Summer Glory

Well spring has finally sprung, the trees are popping out in new clothes everywhere - such a relief on the eyes to see so much green!

And of course the blossoms are just gorgeous!  Everything smells so good, it's hard to close the windows at night!

I just finished a new pattern, it dawned on me that I had no patriotic quilts or table runners hanging around, and that had to be fixed.  Memorial Day is coming, and of course the 4th of July!

Bring it on, I'm ready.  Super fast to stitch - even for ol' slowpoke me, lol.  All done in backstitch, my favorite.

Simple quilting, I just used a wavy stitch on my machine.  I might have to give it to mum, if she sees it.....

If you'd like some patriotic table decor to stitch, Summer Glory is available in my shop now -

I've prepared Jenny's Live Simply quilt for hand quilting.

I'm looking forward to some slow stitching on this one, hand quilting is so calming to me.  On the machine, it's either flat out or full stop, but hand quilting feeds my soul.

This coming Saturday, my oldest and I are going looking for a kitty.  The Ferndale Cat Rescue has a cafe, or as they call it, a CATfe, where you can socialize with the kitties and pick one out.  John has already completed the preapproval process, so won't we have fun!  I'm really looking forward to it.  I'll be sure to take pictures!!!

I hope you all have a wonderful week, and that you're able to get some stitching done....
Love,
Allie

Cute stitches! And I LOVE the little box that your pins are in. Is the kitty for you, or will it be a grand-cat?

Beautiful design and wall-hanging! So happy you will be getting another kitty. Enjoy picking one out!
Yes, Spring has come here too - and we've started to wash windows after our last severe storm last Friday. We stayed safe, though many, many lost their shingles in the storm and other damages. No tulips or daffodils this year. Ours were pretty much flattened, though the rabbit had a smorgasbord on some just before the storm :)!

That is a fun design, perfect for spring.
Live simply is beautiful and I agree, I love hand quilting and would do all my quilts like that, if I had the time. I find it very relaxing. Can't wait to see your new kitty.

The new patriotic design is a good one. Have you thought of submitting one of your designs to the prim quilt magazine?

Spring is finally here in Iowa, too. It is glorious! Last week o my way to work, there was just a misty sheen of green on the trees. This week, they are almost in full bloom! Amazing!

How fun to socialize with the kitties first! I always picked a kitty who walked over to investigate ME, but they were in cages. It's amazing how many do NOT walk over, dogs or cats, in that environment. My son has two Manx-Russian Blue cats - anything mixed with Russian Blue is usually friendly, curious, smart (in cat terms, anyway!) and sweet-natured, as well as pretty. I love the wagon, what a cute runner you've been working on! Beautiful spring tree!

I’m with Karen, Allie, you should have your patterns in one of the many wonderful magazines out there. Adorable pattern and the little blocks complement it perfectly. I love back stitch too and yours is so even.

Very nice, Allie! You are just full of ideas! Jenny’s design is adorable, too. Haven’t taken the time to stitch in a few years. I should do something about that.
