Floods Of Blessings

It's been a very busy week here in Allie-land, and rather warm to start!  After our very large snowstorm, it got up into the 60's F, with flooding rains.  Three inches of rain on top of the melting snowpack makes lakes.

That's my south-side neighbor's lake.

That's my north-side neighbor's lake - first duck splashdown of the year.

I managed to finish stitching Jenny's Live Simply, except for the teeny buttons I need to get for the flowers.

Oh golly I love it!  Jenny makes the most gorgeous designs!

And that is ALL the stitching I've done this week.  Yesterday, my son John got his keys to his new house!!!!!  I only took a couple of pictures, this is the upstairs bathroom, original black and mint green tiles everywhere -

Not that my phone camera can do it justice.  The other picture is what was left in one of the bedrooms, and is now MINE -

A Singer 66 Red Eye with treadle!!!!!  To say I'm excited is the understatement of the year.  I never thought I would have one - she needs some love but I'm looking forward to putting her to rights.  Somehow after spotting that, the rest of the house is a bit of a blur.

John spotted this truck on his drive the other day -

I don't think I'd want to be there when the driver gets out - can you read the back?  LOL!

I'm not sure I'll get any stitching in the rest of the week, somehow I find myself making a Thanksgiving dinner this Saturday.  I'm looking forward to eating, not so much the cooking and cleaning.  But I've made a start.

I hope you all have a lovely rest of the week, be blessed!

My favorite pic of the bucks in the fog.

See you soon!
Love,
Allie

My heart is going pitter patter over that Red EYe!!!!! What a gorgeous machine. A friend of mine has one and is thinking of selling... I hope your flooding doesn't do much damage. We had snow on Saturday, and 80's on Tuesday and Wednesday.

Ha, ha. Love the ducks. They could have landed in our backyard 'cause we had a small lake a couple of days ago. That treadle is heavy so get some strain' young men to move it. Lucky you. Great stitching.

I had a treadle machine like the one you are now a lucky owner of. Long gone but I do remember how pretty the machine decals were. Wonder why your machine got left behind.

What a score. I'm slighlty jealous of your new machine. Even though i do own a treadle I'm always on the look out to own another. I'd be a little concerned about the truck driver too after reading that sign but it sure gave me laugh. :) :). Hugs,xx

I'm kind of wondering where the driver keeps his "less than $50".....

So jealous of the machine. What an awesome surprise. I've only had junk and trash left in houses we've bought, never something wonderful.

The singer treadle sewing machine is so much like the one I have (my mom's old one) and that I learned to sew on. So happy for you! It looks in great shape. Yes, fog and lots of water all around. Feels like spring, but......only February! Congrats to your son, on his new home! Beautiful stitchery!!

Lots of flooding but it seems the wildlife is loving it and I love the deer in the fog, great shot.
Looks like a nice place and what a find, can't believe they left it.

What a great sewing machine. We had lot's of them in the Netherlands when I was a kid.
Love the deer pictures, so special to have them around your house.

I don't know where you live in Michigan, but you could have been writing about Northern Indiana, 5 miles south of the state line!! But we had 6 inches of rain and the St. Joseph River and creek tributaries are causing horrible flooding.

What a great sewing machine. You must be over the moon happy!!
xx, Carol

Twin! I have a Red Eye too but my machine was rusted solid and couldn't be repaired. Yours still has chrome (or silver) on it that is shiny and you have the belts! Amazing! Your sewing is always amazing to me!!! But your photos today are amazing, especially the last one with the deer! Wowsa~! Have a wonderful day sweet Allie!

Well that's quiet the gift. Enjoy it. It certainly is a beauty. You will have to keep us updated on your new toy. That was a crazy truck. Never seen that wrote on one before. LOl.... all kinds of folks in this crazy world...

The truck is brilliant! Love your deer pictures especially the last one. I learnt to sew on my mother's singer treacle - just the best machine, have fun with yours. xx

NO WAY!!!! They just left that beautiful sewing machine behind????!!!! Oh lucky you! Really, I'm happy for you. I love the Singer treadle and I have my mom's, which belonged to her mom who sewed. My mom never really sewed on it much. But I did growing up. I made a lot of clothes for myself and my sister on the treadle after learning how to sew in home ec on electric machines. I still need to get mine in smooth working order. I oiled it some but haven't been back to it in a long time. When it's working right, the sound of a treadle is very soothing.

A wonderful gift for you, sometimes blessings and love come back in return for all you give to others. Guess the driver thought it was summertime!!!

What a fun post. Those boys are big!!! I haven't seen any deer around her for a while. Guess I need to get my head out of the sand. I'm sure your boy bought that house just for the treadle...LOL. What a find. Really cute bathroom.
