Just thought I'd be different - everyone usually says *crickets* to denote complete silence, but around here spring is springing and the frogs are in full throat. When it's quiet you can hear them all over. So *frogs* it is.
I've had some fun, just haven't shared it with you. I went to a quilt show a few weeks back, got to meet
Ami Simms and if you haven't met her [online or in person] then you are missing out! I picked up her Michigan Mink jacket pattern and forgot to get a picture. I'll take plenty once I make it, and show it off -- she had hers on and it is just the cutest! You can find it on her website. Click on the "funny stuff" link on her website too - she created the Worst Quilt in the World contest, and she also has a
blog.
Then, oh boy,
Sandra came from Canada - near Toronto - to go shopping! Oh can this girl shop. In her defense, you should check out all she makes! She puts it to good use. Sandra and her hubby are so much fun to be around, just love them to pieces. Mum and I got a hotel room at the same hotel, and we had a blast - it's always so good to see Sandra and hubby. I only got one picture, Sandra is kind of camera shy, I don't know why - she's just adorable. Here's mum, the only pic I took.
And oh lookie, flickr has changed their layout again. Doesn't this just make me tingle with happiness. Tra la.
I have been doing some sewing, especially today. Well not sewing exactly - more like tracing onto fusible, cutting out, realizing I hadn't reversed the shapes, scanning, reversing and tracing again, and finally have everything fused and onto the fabric. Just can't decide on a layout. Want to see a sneak peek?
I was thinking of doing all this applique by hand, but after all the cutting and tracing [2-3 times] I think I'll pull my machine out. I wonder if it still works?
Kind of a frustrating day off, and now I'm looking at the creative explosion that happened in here, and wondering if I'll find my bed tonight....for those of you that don't sleep in your sewing room, be thankful. A bed is a great temporary storage place, until you actually need to use it. But it was a good day, any day you can pet fabric is a good day, right?
I hope spring is springing up for you, it's been a late start here but it's finally commenced. Love it so much!
