around here. I'm on a break. I've been sick, better now, but it was a doozy of a stomach bug. I hope nobody else gets anything remotely similar.
I'm going to be taking an extended blogging break. I'm not blogging or even sewing lately. I've actually been a wee bit [dare I say it?] bored with sewing. Hard to believe, I know...sigh.
Not sure when I'll be back to it. I'll be around to your blogs now and then, just to keep an eye on you and make sure you're behaving. Hugs to you all.
What a sweet happy life it is!

Happy New Year, Belated!
I hope you all have been enjoying the holidays as much as I have. I am SO behind on emails and blogging...but that's ok, right? *G*
We went to my mum's on Christmas, cooked a turkey dinner here and took it over there. She was ready, the house all decked out - my brother is 42 and she still puts up a stocking for him. For herself, as well. Matter of fact, I think she has THREE stockings. I wanted to show you her latest light bulb ornaments...not a great pic, sorry...

Mr. Grinch! Except she kept calling him Mr. Grouch. Ah well, it's all good. Here's the production line.

And the sweet little gingie from Michelle, hanging on her tree. Had to take a pic of that, Michelle.

I did get the binding on Michelle's little quilt design for mum, here it is:

and ONE coaster for her.

I've got plenty of them started. None finished except that one.
Last Sunday, my aunt had her Christmas party. I caught my mother, the diabetic, doing this....

Do you know what that is? I didn't either, thought it was a chocolate lollipop. It almost is.

You warm some milk, and add the spoon. Genius. Mum couldn't wait for the milk.
I think I told you I was going to make hubby a quilt for Christmas. And that he didn't like the hst's I'd started. He picked out some colors, and this is how far I'd gotten this morning, all the rows had to be put together....

By 5pm, I was done.

He hates it.
I hate it too. I probably wouldn't hate it if it was 90 degrees outside. But it reminds me of Lake Superior, and you can get hypothermia in that lake in July. Not what you want to be working on in January. Plus, while I was working on it, I was watching The Perfect Storm, and it was making me very seasick. No liberated quilts that remind you of water when watching that movie. EVER.
So that's it, he's not getting another. Sam likes the quilt so he'll probably get it. But for now, it's folded up in my closet, awaiting the day when I can get batting and a backing. Out of sight, out of mind, and now I can do something FUN. Something pretty. Something with uplifting colors that don't depress me, lol. Pink, maybe. Oh yes, pink.
I hope you're working on something pretty too! It's so very good to be back, I'll be popping over to visit, get the kettle on!
