I'm having a lot of trouble settling down to a project lately. I threw away two projects this morning! Don't worry, I didn't waste a lot - they were small, but very deserving of their fate. I worked on them both this morning, and ruined them! ARGH!
This is another project I'm trying to work on, it's fighting me tooth and nail. Just a sneak peek for now.
I cleaned my sewing room the other day, in the hopes I could get organized and find something to settle down with. Boy, did I find things. I have so many stitcheries started! Trouble is, I put them away to work on something else, and forget I have them. And with all the gorgeous BOM's out there right now, I want to start more!
Remember my friend Shirley's pillow she made? She made two more little wallhangings of the same design.
She's putting me to shame. I love those things. January is gone, and I have not one finish! Here's another pillow she made, a number of years ago.
See why she inspires me?
I think I'll go plug in Lucy, and pick up one of those stitchery projects I found before they take my quilting license away!
By the way - I'm still rising at 5am, still loving it, now if the rest of the family would just get up so I can turn on my sewing machine that early!

So glad you're back, Allie.
Love those fabrics! Can't wait to see your creation.
I'm not listening to you! *sticks fingers in ears and hums ... 5:00 a.m. doesn't exist! 5:00 am. doesn't exist!! DOES NOT DOES NOT DOES NOT!* :)
January wasn't a very productive month for me either - I wasn't able to get it in gear until about week 3 - not sure why, but I'm glad the hiatus is over! I hope yours is too as I love seeing your goodies! But not at this so-called 5:00 a.m. mystical magical place you mention :D
Wow Allie--6:00 am is early enough for me! Good for you!! Hope you're settled down soon ;-)
What a perfect time to get those stitchery projects done. You won't wake anyone up that way and bonus, you get to finish a few.
I'm glad you're still enjoying getting up so early Allie! I have days (sometimes weeks) where I can't seem to settle on a project. Be patient with yourself...this too shall pass! :0)
I've been getting up at 5:30 each day to walk on the treadmill before work - it does make me feel better. That's for the reminder to ask God for things - sometimes I forget.
Well done early bird... I love the black and white fabrics you are working with.... Shirleys design is lovely... so effective. I love however she has done the feather.... as you saw I have trouble settling on 'a' project too....
Hugz
early is good Allie...nice to see you back..
I do admire Shirley's work...but yours too!! "Just settle down"..yep, used that on my two quite a bit!! Happy day to you Allie.
Anxious to see what you are working on, you little teaser you! Glad you are still getting up early. I think watching Lucy is the best way to start my day. I love to laugh and that show gets me in the right frame of mind for the day!
Yes, I know how you feel about not settling in and having so many projects going on! I'm making it a point to finish some, too. :-)
Love those ladies and that pillow! Too cool!
I like your black and white backgrounds and I'm guessing a poppy style flower that you are working on.
Can't wait to see the reveal, your stitchery pieces are also lovely.
Psstt!!
If it is all quiet in your house and no one is around to bug you, you can take 15 mins to do some handstitching!
You'd be surprised what you could get done!
Take care, Leslie
Hang in there! I have been cleaning and organizing my sewing room again and it feels great.
I hope you can get the rest of your family to get up as early as you are. That would be so nice to start the machine up that early. I have to wait until around 8am.
You seem so happy now Allie with rising early good on you ,i wish i was like that i am a night owl.Your friend is amazing as are you Allie, love seeing all your projects.xx
It doesn't matter that you start lots... just enjoy whatever you are working on.. whenever you work on it!
We craft to EnJoY not to finish!! :)
Good luck in you quest to be a morning person. Remember you can always take a nap!!!!! Love the wall hangings and pillow---so different!
I had three boys in 5 years. Settle Down has often been said here. Hope you can settle on a project soon. You always do such nice work.
I hate to throw things away. But there are some you just can't salvage, eh?
what are you up too with that cloud sketching?
So glad you're back Allie. Interesting project you're working on :) I know what you mean with all those lovely BOM out there. They are just calling me "do me, do me". But I hate starting things and not being able to finish them, so I made a pack with myself... to finish last year's (and the previous year's BOM) before starting 2012 BOM. I just can't resist them though!!
Have a great weekend.
Hugs, Sue from Cyprus x x x
I can't wait to see what all you are doing. Lucy is my favorite too to do things by!!!
Maybe once you get settled into this new routine you will be able to settle down.
Allie you crack me up! There's so much fun stuff out there right now. These pillows are fabulous!
No good hanging onto things that don't make you happy. Just make sure you learn something from your mistakes. I love the look of the new project. I like to get up early too. Don't know how you do it in the winter.
I LOVE THOSE B/W FABRICS AND I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE THAT PIECE! And now I also just have to say you might be a traitor to the non-morning people of the world, who thought we were all members of the same club...just sayin.
I can't believe you are still getting up early....wow. I'm impressed.
I love your current project. Can't wait to see more of it. I cannot even count how many UFOs I have. I'm afraid to look. So far, I haven't throw any away, but I have stomped a mud hole in a couple of blocks.
Your new project looks great - love black/red/white colour combo. I think maybe I need to "settle down" too lol.
