What a sweet happy life it is!
I do not think you can take food or drinks into the park. But what I have done before is to take a cooler and leave it in the car. You can go out to your car and eat there. You will have to have your hand stamped or something, to go back into the park. Just as a suggestion, because eating at Disney is very expensive, take a water bottle with you, and fill it up at their water fountains. You can stick that in your purse. (btw, they will go through you bag at the gate for security)
Hi Allie - yes you can bring snacks, but no coolers. Here's what it says in the Disney FAQ. "Guests are allowed to bring food items, such as snacks or foods that do not require heating, into any Walt Disney World® Theme Park. Just inform a Security Cast Member."
Here's a link to the FAQ http://disneyworld.disney.go.com/wdw/common/helpFAQ?id=HelpFAQDiningPage
We went to Disney World in March. We got water bottles with carbon filters from Target and just kept refilling them. It helped to get clean, decent tasting water at no additional cost. We also took fruit and snacks in our backpacks and had no problem. We did not need to inform a cast member about it. They check all bags when you are entering. If your friends aren't big water drinkers, you can buy a Disney cup for $15 that has unlimited free refills within the parks, hotels, etc.
I was going to suggest leaving a cooler in the car, but I see that others beat me to it :)
Yes, you can take food and drink in, but the drink has to be sealed and unopened or they make you throw it out. :( We have also left coolers in the back of the car to go out and eat. Don't do the cooler thing at Magic Kingdom because it takes soooooooooo long to get back out to your car. The other parks are much easier to get to your car out in the parking lot.
