Something For You, Something For Me

First, something for me - all the way from Australia! Dawn from Dawn Hay Designs sent me the most darling little parcel, just because -

PICT1203 1

Dawn, you are just the sweetest, I adore this fabric and can't bear to cut it until I find just THE right thing to use it for - and would you look at that lovely koala? Isn't he sweet? And the floss - oh how I love floss, and this is a lovely color! Now you know I'll be using an Australian design for this! Dawn is a member of the Gum Tree designers, and she is FABULOUS! Go see!

And now, something for you - I made a design for my partner in the Hug Swap, Dawnie from Itching for Stitching.....and I promised to make it available for you. I also created another to go with it, and you can get them here. I call them Wee Roses.

Now I must go cut my boy's hair, since he has tried himself and it's a little ragged. Seems like I had more to say but I'm being pestered. *G* Have a wonderful day everyone!

I want to learn to do embroidery so bad. Can you tell me where to start? I love these little roses. Are they easy? Could I start with that? What stitches do I need to learn? Have I asked enough questions? Ha!

Oh I love it. Embroidery was and has always been my first love. I can't wait to stitch your pattern, but first I must unpack my embroidery stuff.

Last week maybe you commented about a purse on my messy table. That's a vintage purse I got at a thrift store about 10 years ago, for which I paid $1.00. I use it all the time and it's still in good shape. It's my favorite purse. Just thought you might want to know. :)

Beautiful fabric!! If you don't have one already..you should hop over to During Quiet Time's blog and use her tutorial to make an Armchair pincushion! I'm sure whatever you decide to make with this lovely fabric, there will have some scraps to use up and have a lovely reminder every time you sit to stitch!! Sweet roses by the way!! xo

THANKS SOOOO MUCH FOR THE LOVELY ROSES... I love embroidery and combining it with quilting and the ideas are endless. My only problem is TIME.... But thanks, it's going into my file of Things To Do.... from a sunny South Africa (ps. i love your blog).

These flowers are just adorable, but I REALLY love the applique ones you did a few posts back. I think your combination of embroidery and quilting is so refreshing and with that wonderful vintage feel that makes my heart go pitty-pat . . . thanks for the continual supply of great eye candy, Allie!
