This is Pam on the left, me in the middle, and Mary-Kay on the right. I wish you could meet these gals in person, they're a lot of fun! I told my hubby I was going to meet them, and he thinks we're all stalkers. *snort* Men.
I went with my friend Cathy [an annual event!] and my other friend Kathy came too. No pics, no blogs....I'll have to work on them.
Aside from meeting some exceptional bloggers, the show was a disappointment. Our favorite vendor wasn't there. The show was smaller. Way too much empty space. Cathy and I decided next year, we'll skip it, and try to get to Houston instead.
I did find some treasures. This vendor had .99 fat quarters, and yards were [I think] $3.
I couldn't resist this book, it was on sale for $3? $4? It's lovely.
On the back:
I love all things nautical.
The deal of the day was this.
36 skeins of variegated DMC floss for $10! And my favorite thimbles to use for hand sewing, which is the main reason I go to this show - it's the only place I can find them.
My favorite fabric purchases were these [sorry for the bad pic]:
Now I'm exhausted and I'm going to go rest!

OMG, you really done good girl. Love the fabrics and that floss - I had to blow up the pic and then I read below (duh) that yes indeedy, there were 36 skeins for 10 bucks. Too bad the show was a disappointment but it was nice to meet some fellow bloggers.
Wow great buys! Sorry the show was a disappointment. The last time I went to the Sewing Expo here, we were disappointed too. So we decided not to go back. But Houston, now there is a thought!!!
You certainly are a quick one. But I'm second. I enjoyed meeting you and Pam. I thought the show was a lot smaller too and I'm glad that I didn't take a day off work to go. I hope to go to Paducah one day but Houston would be even better. I think I better start saving up now.
You've done really well with all those lovely finds. I'm sure you'll have lots of fun with all that stuff.
It sounds like you enjoyed the company you had. Too bad the show wasn't as great. But at least you got some good deals.
How fun to meet some fellow bloggers. I love seeing your goodies that you got. Get some rest.
I bought that very same assortment of floss last weekend with a coupon at Jo-Ann. I felt kind of silly, since I have more floss than I can use in a lifetime, but I love the colors!
Love the camels and minarets!
Looks like you did some great shopping, even if the show was a little disappointing. Hmm, I'd love to get hold of a copy of the Jan Patek book, my son would love the cover quilt.
I love those thimbles!!! And the threads....be still my beating heart! ;-)
It was so nice that you got to meet our fellow bloggers, but that is a big disappointment to get there and have the expo not meet expectations. I see you got some thimble pads - I use them too! They're great. If you get a chance, can you take a look at my blog and let me know what you think about turquoise or no turquoise?
I had so much fun meeting you and your friends. I finally posted today too. I guess I am last. You know what they say though, save the best for last, LOL! Houston, huh? Count me in too!!
how fun! i love sewing festivals. the camel fabric is fabulous!
Allie...sounds like you guys had a great day and what bargins..lucky you
That Middle Eastern fabric is great!
Hi Allie:
How fun to see a picture of you, not fun the the show was disappointing. I have one porthole done, I did it on a flour sack dish towel. I will show on my blog. I want to do the other 2 on flour sacks also.
Some great finds as well as bargains!
I especially love the last fabric photo...I would have bought everything they had in that...
hope your getting your rest:)

Wow what a fantastic day! It's wonderful you were able to meet some of your blogland friends. I love those fabric finds and that wonderful pattern! Fantastic!!
How nice to see you all! I "Pam" but it is a first to Mary Kay. Wish I could have joined you!
Looks like you made the best of things even though the show was a let down! How fun to meet up with blog friends in real life :)
What was your favorite booth that wasn't there?
What fun! I got to meet a fellow blogger once at one of our local quilt show. You found some great goodies too.
Sounds like a great time! The fabrics are super and how lovely to meet blog friends in person!
Love you finds you got at the Expo....now you've got me wanting more threads!!(you bad girl)
The Expo we had in Atlanta in March was down in attendance and vendors too.....still wish I could have been there with you all.
You racked up once again! Even if the show was small. :) I'd love to rummage through your house! Hee hee
Those thimble pads are cool!
Looks like a fantastic day and you found just what you were looking for~!
cool stuff. I really love the camel fabric!!!! and that's the trooth! (my word verification. lol)
Wow it really is a small small world. I did Secret Santa for Pam from Mamas Spark last year - I cannot believe that you met up with her - dont suppose you mentioned that I was your hug swap partner. Of all people - that is just amazing.
Great buys! You have a great selection of fabrics Allie! Amanda
