My friend Cathy got me a late birthday/early Christmas gift:
Two towels with a flamingo embroidery, and Chic Bag Boutique cd from Vintage Workshop.
I picked up this fat quarter, so vintagey. Is that a word? It should be.
And this fabric was half off - it's people reading! I need a new bookbag and it will be perfect.
I love it so much, I would have loved to buy up the bolt. Alas, I only got one yard, but that's enough for a bookbag!
Enjoy your day - I'm off to the library!

LOVE the bookworm fabric. It is hilarious to see the guy on the surf board behind the lovely lady in red! I know you will really enjoy that book bag.
Great fabric! I love the vintage children. I rarely have a project in mind when I buy fabric. (And even more rare is the time that I do and the fabric gets made into said project...)
You are right, the lady in the red dress is fabulous! I wish that is what I looked like when I go to the library.
Oh, you lucky girl! Nice haul! Love the fabrics you chose. You may not look like the girl in the red dress when you go to the library, but you will be STYLIN' with that book bag! Can't wait to see it finished.
Allie...did you get the reading fabric at Mary Maxim??
That is great fabric! Such fun! Use red trim on your book bag!
That really is cute fabric Allie I can allmost see the book bag :-)
I LOVE the fabric with the children, the colors are so vibrant, they take my breath. WOW. The reading fabric of course is perfect. So kewel!
As a librarian i just had to put in my 2 cents and say that I love that reader fabric. And flamingoes? Right up my alley, Allie.
Wait - I think the girl in the red dress is my Blossom!! Yep, it is...with a bag and a book, her two favourite things!
I'm envious of your fabric, I admit it. ;-)
It's going to be a BEAUTIFUL bag!!
Love the new material. Both are marvelous. I would like to get our house sold and get resettled so I can spend some time sewing more. I am still in the beginner stages and really want to make aprons for gifts this year. I have all the fabric and some patterns to choose from, just need the time and space to keep on working without having to clean up in between. Something to look forward to.
You are right about that reader fabric, it's perfect for a book bag!
Howdy

Super cute fabrics, and great new word....an entire file cabinet? Wow that must have taken a lot of picutres! Hooray for Mod Podge!
Yard sales are the best!
You definitely have an eye for finding great fabrics! Wouldn't those look so nice in your quilt shop? ;) Don't give up the dream, girl!! Can't wait to see the finished bag! xo
Love your fabrics especially the one where the people are reading. Cute.
That fabric is going to make a terrific bookbag! And I love the Dick and Jane print too. Fun!
I love the bookworm fabric - actually I NEED some of that, being a bookworm myself and working in a library and all. Where did you get it, Allie?
