Sweet Country Home

I finished block two of my Sweet Country series, Home...

I think I like it.  :)  I'm already trying to decide where to hang it, when I get it all done.  It's uploaded to my craftsy shop, if you like it too.

Here's the two blocks so far:

Mum was here yesterday, and was having a fit at this picture, she wanted me to swap them out so it read "welcome home".  Mother knows best!  Her power had gone out, so she spent the day here, as it was 95F and quite humid, she needed to be in air conditioning.  It was lovely having her here, just like old times!

On a very sad note, I had to take my sweet Hermione to the vet last Friday and have her put down.

I can't believe how hard it was.

Or how much I miss her.  I used to carry her around like a baby - upside down in my arms - she was my constant companion.

Hubby wants a box of kittens, but no.  No more animals.  I can't take it, and my youngest is very allergic, so as long as he lives at home I'll have a good excuse.  Hubby can have his fish.  I don't get emotionally attached to fish.

Needless to say, I haven't been on the computer much since then.  I know you've all been busy, as my reader is exploding with posts, I'll get to them this week.  Be well and happy, my sweet friends.....

Love,
Allie

So sorry to hear about your sweet Hermoine. Such a beautiful cat. I'm slightly allergic, but wouldn't have a home without a cat or three. Love your stitcheries! How many do you plan for the series?

I know how hard it is to lose a pet friend. After my Jack died I said NO MORE. But my grandson lived with us (we raised him) brought home a Boxer pup as soon as I retired because I had plenty of time to train him. I got too attached to him to suit Corey, so he gave me a boxer/pit mix pup for Christmas. He is Boscoe and he immediately bonded with my husband. So now my grandson has moved out and we are here with our 3 year old dogs which means we are not really empty nesters. Even though 2 big dogs limits how far we can go away from home, I'm truly glad we have them.

It takes a long time to recover from the loss of a pet. I still miss Jack every single day.

Your bird blocks are just so cute.
xx, Carol

I am so sorry to hear about hermione, I know the feeling, it is too hard to have a pet that only lives so long.
I say no more, but the last two showed up at my door;)

Lovely designs Allie. I know how hard it was to put your beloved kitty down. We had to put our two 19 year old cats down within a year of each other. Neither one of us wants any pets right now but if, in the future we do, they will be from the shelter and they will be senior animals.

Oh Allie, such sadness, Hermione will always be in your memories, but when they leave, a massive gap. Love those stitcheries, and YES, I would have them the other way too. Hugs.XXXX

Oh no - I'm so very sorry about your dear Hermione! Oh this is so sad - I'm just so so sorry, and you know I feel your pain. RIP sweet beautiful girl - I'm sure you'll find many of our beloved furbabies @ the Rainbow Bridge.

Oh, Allie, I am so sorry about Hermione. I have been where you are, and I believe you've just done one of the most difficult things life will ever ask of you, and the most loving. You have to give it some time for the sweet memories to take their place ahead of the sadder ones. Only then can you think about whether there's room for another cat in your home. Some people make the decision right away. For me, it took a couple of years. With our dogs, we didn't have any gap, so there was never a decision to make, which might have made it easier--I never had to say, "Okay, now I'm ready again."

Just know how much love is coming your way.

Love your new block - such beautiful embroidery with all the detail in it. Both are so pretty. So, so sorry about Hermione - that is what we had to do with our cat Sebastian. I totally know what you are going through. I too can't think of another pet due to the heartache of loosing them. (We had also had two cute bichon dogs over the years - and each time it is hard when the end comes). Hugs to you, my friend!!

Oh, honey, I'm so sorry. When I lost my last cat, it was so difficult, I thought I was going to come unglued! No more pets for me, either. On a happier note, I love your new designs!

I love these two country designs. I'm sorry to hear about your cat. We've had a very sick dog, but he's getting better each day. We weren't ready to see him go.

So sorry about your kitty!! I know how hard it is. I had to put down my dog in 2014 after 14 years. She was my very first pet. Never had a pet as a child. I won't have another one either. My daughters each have a dog. That's good enough for me.
Love your embroideries.

I'm so sorry about your dear, sweet love baby. I know how you feel - I haven't had a cat since I lost mine more than 20 years ago, and I won't. I refuse to get attached to my sons cats. I pet them if I'm there, put a foot out to keep them from escaping, but like you, I just can't do that again. I like your finish. Welcome Home is probably a good order for them. LOL And it is the order they were made, so listening to mom is good this time. I'm so glad you had such a lovely day with her. I hope her A/C is fixed now - that's too hot for anyone!

Sometimes, when I'm enjoying my air conditioned house, I think about what it was like before a/c - ugh! I know cities are hotter with all the concrete - in Phoenix they could measure downtown verses the suburbs and it was always several degrees difference, but not enough to say it was cool out in the 'burbs! I'm glad I wasn't a pioneer woman in long sleeved dress and 90+ weather with humidity!

So sorry to hear about Hermione crossing the rainbow bridge. I have had to do that twice now with the two cats I inherited from my sister. I have one cat left that I inherited from my aunt a few years ago. I am not sure who is going to outlast the other -:0

Oh Allie, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet kitty. She is so lucky to have gotten to spend her life in such a loving home.

Losing a cherished pet is so hard - sending hugs your way!

Oh, no. :( I'm so very sorry about losing Hermione. It's terrible when we lose special fur friends - completely breaks your heart.

Both of these blocks are wonderful. I love the birds sitting on the fence, adding living presence to what are already sweet vignettes.

I love your Welcome Home blocks. Very pretty! I'm so sorry about your cat. My dad has his beloved dog put to sleep a couple weeks ago and I was there for the burial. I think he handled it well but he sure does miss his ole girl. We have three dogs that I adore, but I don't want any more pets after they are gone either.
