Silly

You know, back when I started this journey with mum, I had visions of her and I sitting around, taking life easy, me stitching and her reading.....sipping tea, watching Lucy....sigh.  Care-giving is not for the faint of heart.  Unless you're a cat.  Cats are fine with it.

Hermione says "relax".....

Mum starts rehab any day, if we ever recover from the plague that hit last weekend.  I spent Christmas Day in bed - fortunately, my guests brought their own food, as my ham never made it out of the fridge.  We're having it tonight.

We got 10 inches of snow in our first snowstorm of the year, yay!  I love the first snow, especially if it's a good one.  I love seeing all the Rose of Sharon bushes wearing their little hats.

Then we got another 6", and it all melted after Christmas when it went to almost 60F.  The fog off the melting snow was awesome.

Exciting, right?  *snort*  That's been my life.  There is stitching happening, just not too much - taking care of mum, and cleaning after 5 people who are all on different schedules and eat at different times consumes me.  But I can't wait to share with you some upcoming stuff....my pencil has been busy.  As soon as I find my work tables, creating may happen!  Right now they're covered with mum's Christmas gifts.

I hope you all had a very blessed Christmas holiday, and that the New Year is good to you -

Love,
Allie

What? No life of leisure for you? That's just not fair. Oh well. I know Mum has added to your workload but I also know that you appreciate every minute that you're able to spend with her. Happy New Year!

It is nice when our plans get squashed but things work out anyways, just go with the flow, good attitude.
I do love how the fog rolls off the ground like that, no snow here, looks like more rain.
Hope you are feeling better and can't wait to see what you are creating, I need to get my pads out too and start sketching.

I feel for you, I look after my Mum too, she has dementia. There are days I just want to hide in bed and not come out, but I have a youngish family to look after, so you take a big breath and put one foot in front of the other and just go from there. Hope you get some "you" time and the New Year is good to you. Guida

Sorry to hread you have been ill at Christmas. It looks like Hermione had a good time, she is so cute and fluffy. She has her winterfur and seems to be ready for more snow. It looks so pretty! I hope for freezing temperatures here and some snow too! Take care, I hope you find the time to get some creative ideas worked out!

Dear friend, I am happy to hear from you. I hope you are already recovered. I'm cold right now, winter is like this. Beautiful and impressive your photos, thank you very much for sharing them. My best wishes for these days, that tranquility and health are installed in your home.
Many hugs for you and your mom.

Bummer you were sick for Christmas! Hope you are getting better with each day. I will be going home next week to take care of my mom for a few days, giving my siblings who live in the same town a break. My mom is losing her vision and needs several rounds of eye drops every day which is very difficult for her to do on her own. She's been alone since my dad passed in 2007 and losing her vision makes her feel all the more alone.

We got the white stuff too and then it melted and now it's back but since the high is above freezing, it will probably disappear before too long. Monday it's supposed to rain so more of the ice underneath will probably leave us too.
So sorry to hear you were under the weather. Give your mom a big hello from me. I hope she gets back to her old self soon.
We spent family time on Christmas Eve. It was so great having little ones around to celebrate it with. The tree and decorations were taken down early this year because I have a quilt on the frame that I want to get finished. Hopefully I can take some time to get at it.

So sorry you had the holiday yuck, but glad you are feeling better now. Thankfully, Christmas lives in our hearts yearlong, not just during the holidays. Wishing you and Mum and the family a Blessed New Year!

Take care of yourself! Being a care given is very exhausting both mentally and physically. Be sure to give some time to your own care.

So glad you're feeling better, but sorry that you were not feeling well for the big day. Sounds like all were able to get by well, though. Love seeing the fog pictures. There has been some crazy weather this year. Can't wait to see your new designs. Here's to a prosperous 2017 :)

You know it! Not for the faint of heart. I had no clue what I was capable of until Mom told me I was....like it or not...LOL. I want to be my kitty next time around.

Glad you are feeling better and able to eat your ham.

I've been behind on reading my favorite blogs. Sorry to hear you were sick at Christmas. We had some out of town guests....My son Pat, his wife Courtney and my granddaughter Ashley. They came down for Christmas for the first time in 13 years. It was great having all my kids together for Christmas.

I hope you are feeling better and getting back into a sewing routine. Glad to hear Mom is doing better. Hugs

Nothing worse than feeling unwell for a big occasion. Hope it's past. Your wisemen are sweet and hope your mom's pacemaker is okay too. Try not to get overwhelmed...I was there for a week or two but the feeling lifted, thank goodness. Meanwhile Happy New Year to you and yours!

Hope you are feeling better now, and you have left all those bugs in the old year so you can have a healthy and happy new year.

I'm praying for you Allie. It certainly is not easy being a caregiver. I'm looking forward to seeing more of your designs/creations. Life is good, isn't it? Happy New Year.
