Guts And Glory

Trust me, she's smiling - mum is at the rehab/nursing home.  She's doing VERY well.  Still on oxygen, but she does need her pacemaker replaced - yet another surgery, but this one will be outpatient and in about 3 weeks.

My friends, I'm sorry I've been so silent, but I've been at the nursing home all day and half the night.  Mum had some transfer trauma, so did I - but this place is more like a 5-star hotel than a nursing home, and she's settled in nicely.  They have a master chef and I'm afraid she's getting spoiled.  My cousin, who travels around to nursing homes all the time, said she's never seen such a nice place.

My poor sewing and home have been sorely neglected.  But at least mum has not been!  While understaffed, everyone has been uncommonly kind and helpful.  Did I mention this is an amazing place, lol?  Mum has not been having much pain at all, hasn't needed pain meds, it's incredible.

We both thank you for all your prayers, from the bottom of our hearts.  This has been quite the ordeal, and not over yet, but I know your prayers got us through.  Thank you my lovely friends!!

See you soon....
Love,
Allie

Sitting up, almost a smile, and able to be there for a photo shoot, I would say " Very Well Done" !!! So glad you have been there, everything else can fade away into the background for a while, till you both recover. Heaps of love from a cold and wet day down here. XXXX

such good news to read Mum is well on the way to full health again, the nursing home sounds a great place to get back to full strength and so good she is nearby so you can spend so much time with her, shame they did not replace the pacemaker whilst she was having surgery.
Once again I see the work of God here in this healing will continue to pray for you both

Oh well done other mum - you look amazing for having had that huge op. Allie why are you aplogising for being quiet - it doesn't matter at all and you need to focus on family and yourself for a while... we will be here when you get a chance. Saying that it's wonderful to get news of how your mum is doing... pass my love onto her..xx

Mum is looking good. So glad things are going well and that she is in such a nice place. Now it's time for you to take care of yourself.

She looks great! Please thank her for allowing you to post her picture! (You DID get permission, right?). Isn't it amazing that getting a pacemaker is just day surgery? I only learned that yesterday and I was amazed. XO

So glad to hear that your mom is doing so well. Please give her a gentle hug for me and let her know that she, and you and your family, are in our prayers. It is not easy when someone we love is hurting, but this too shall pass. Concentrate on your mom and family as they are the most important issues at the moment. Take care and God bless.

And pacemaker surgery an outpatient surgery? Amazing!
Keeping you and your family in prayer.

Pacemaker replacement being outpatient surgery - the marvels of modern medicine! Glad she's doing so well - I'm sure that's a huge relief to the entire family :D Tell her that she needs to behave and do what she's told ... although that's not how it will go because she's a sneaky monkey!

Hi Allie

So glad to hear, and see from the photo, that your Mum is going well. I will continue to pray for you as I'm sure you must be exhausted. Glad to hear that the nursing home is so nice. So much nicer for your Mum to be in somewhere nice for this time of recovery. So much nicer for you to know that she is happy.
Blessings to you both as you continue the healing journey.

Glad to hear your mom is doing so well. Will continue to keep you and her in my prayers. Sewing and housework can wait. They will most likely always be there, but your mom won't. Just remember to take care of yourself too so you can be there for her.

Oh, Allie, such good news. Been off-line, too, during our move, and have been wondering about Mum. So glad she has landed in a wonderful place to rehab in. Don't worry about your house and sewing. You've got your priorities straight, Girl. Much love to you both, and prayers continue.
