Warming Up

I had some time today, and it was cold in my sewing room - so the obvious solution was to turn the iron on, and the sewing machine.  I've done so poorly with getting log cabin blocks done for my Scrappy Harvest, it was fun to make a few more.

And boy did it warm up my room.  But all that getting up to trim and press wore me out, I'm going to sit for awhile and hand stitch.

Nothing much happening at Casa Allie-oops - but get ready, there's a new BOM starting January 1st!  Jenny of Elefantz and I are collaborating, and Jenny will have the first block up Friday Australian time.  I'll let you know!

Happy New Year!

I hope you're getting all rested up for round 2! I just finished quilting 1 of 5 in my pile. I'll sew on the binding after dinner, and then I'll have something to keep me warm for awhile as I sew it down. Happy New Year!!

It's New Year's Eve and I'm sitting under the air conditioner while you warm yourself by the iron. Wonder what the weather will be like in heaven when we finally get to meet face to face and hug? Perfect, that's what it will be; quite heavenly. xxx

I really need to clean out my room tomorrow, it is a disaster with all the things I took out to work on, so time to put things away and box up items that I don't use for now, then maybe I can see through the mess to reorganize.

I notice you are using a larger print strip in your log cabin blocks. I have done that a couple times. Makes for interesting design within the blocks.

Happy almost New Year, Allie - 24 more hours here and the fireworks will begin :D Oh who am I kidding - hubby and I are staying home because we have a big luncheon to prepare for on Friday, so we'll probably be in bed by 10:00 p.m., LOL!

My basement dungeon sewing room is pretty warm in winter because I share it with the furnace and a/c unit. Hot and noisy in the winter, and frosty cold (uncomfortably so) and noisy in the summer :D At least nobody bothers me down there, and I can leave my stuff out without worrying about anything getting misplaced :D

Your log cabin strips look so good, all ready in line. Happy New Year, may 2016 be kind and generous to you and yours, stay warm and safe. We will not be celebrating the midnight hour, rather, will wake in the morn to find 2016 has arrived.

I love the verse Allie. It is so easy to get busy and loose sight of the fact that this life is just a journey. A very Happy New Year to you and God Bless you through 2016. Hugs. Sharon x

At least you are sewing......grin. I've been trying to copy an old potholder. I won it at Bunco when I was about 30 and love it. I've learned a few lessons along the way. I don't know what the heck I'm doing anymore.......LOL. It will be a potholder when I'm finished, but doesn't look much like the original and I forgot a few steps......I'll give it another try soon.

Happy New Year Allie!!!

Happy new year! I often think how warm an iron makes my small quilt room! Very cozy. Nice to have a day to do what you want, isn't it?
