Slow Sunday

I'm working on one for the Christmas box....

2015-07-12 14.54.13

My brother is a real car nut.  He's a mechanic, and he does it all - replacing engines, transmissions, even body work.  I think he needs something with cars on it this Christmas.   A 1935 Ford Coupe fits the bill.

It's interesting making a pattern from a photograph - I took a pic of this car at the Woodward Dream Cruise a few years ago.  I'm going to see how many others I can turn into stitches.  My brother may end up with a whole quilt!

What are you up to this fine day?

Oh I miss my embroidery! Hopefully I'll get back to it one of these days. I can't wait to see how the car turns out! :0)

Your stitchery is looking good so far, Allie. What have I done? A quiet weekend: I have spent the weekend baking - steak and mushroom pie and Brookies, plus I finished my latest tri-cowl scarf, I set up my new blog Christmas Ornie SAL 2015, went for walks, did lots of washing, etc and of course, lots of stitching, too. If you want to check out my new blog, you can find it here: http://christmasorniesal2015.blogspot.com.au/ I hope that you don't mind but I have used one of my stitched pieces of Christmas Light as the basis for the blog button - giving you full credit, of course. hugs, Kaye

I like the idea of doing photos into embroidery, photos from a trip would be fun too, or maybe favorite places from trips.

What a good idea. I like the background you're using for the stitchery, too. You have such a creative mind!

What a fantastic idea Allie. I always get rather stuck with gift ideas for men and tend to shy away from sewing gifts but that is lovely. I shall look forward to seeing it finished :-)

You mentioning cars reminds me about your son. How did he turn out on his insurance for his car accident?

Wow Allie - I'm really impressed - both with how clever you are translating the photo to a stitch design and also how you are already preparing for Christmas with loving, thoughtful gifts for family. You are an inspiration :)
