14 Days

Fourteen days since I last blogged.  I'm in the January slumps - I find myself playing endless games of solitaire on the computer, and not much else!  A bit of stitching, a lot of cleaning [sewing room, pics someday] and that's it.

We've had a bit of snow, but only a bit, and a few sunny days.  Even that wasn't enough to get me motivated.  My aunt bought me some new shoes, as a reward for my getting over my fear of chamber pots, lol....ugh.  Kitty loves my new shoes.

Not sure if you can see it in this pic or not, but she loves to face plant in the corner of the box.

It's not quite big enough for her, but don't tell her, ok?

Mum and I went for a visit to our friend Shirley's, she's been busier than me.  She made this for her grandson, from a picture he had...

It's drawn with marker, and colored with markers, and stitched.  Then she made this for her great-grand-daughter...

From a coloring book, made with the same method, but she also used silver glitter paint on the dress.

Shirley always inspires me to get stitching!

Mum was actually having a good time, although she didn't show it in this pic.

Carrie from A Passion For Applique had a post about the robot-defeating captcha on the comment form on blogs.  I also use a pop-up box for comments, and you do NOT have to check the "I am not a robot" box, you can completely ignore it and your comment will still go through.  I too don't like the embedded comments - I like to scroll through the post again while I comment, and the pop-up boxes work great for that.  So if you'd like to leave me a comment, just ignore the robot box, ok?  Your comment will still go through.

I've decided [although I'm apt to change my mind] that Saturdays will be my blogging days.  I'm scrolling through my Old Reader today, catching up on your blogs, and thought I'd better post something as well!  I'd love to get on some kind of schedule, for ANYTHING, and this might work for me.  We'll see how it goes, lol, we all know about best-laid plans.  Now to get more coffee and do some more reading - I'm looking so forward to catching up with you all!

She looks so much like my son's cat. Even though I have had her for years, she is still his, lol. She thinks I am hers though, so I am stuck with her and today she decided to puke on my bed, ugh. Love the colored quilts, would love to try some art pieces with painting.

The cat in the box, lovely, where are the shoes? Beautiful painted quilts, that is superb talent.

I'm sorry you are having the January slumps. Please take care of yourself. Maybe try some natural light or see a doctor. You can't pass the whole winter this way! Those quilts are lovely. It's so nice when people mix different interests and put them together in creative ways.

Hi Allie, yep know all about those January slumps. All i've been doing is playing WoW on the computer & reading. Just a little stitching at night. :)Cats & boxes. They'll get into anything if they think they'll fit. Lovely quilts by your friend Shirley. I love the pop up box. I too like to scroll back through posts as i leave a comment. Hugs,xx

I've actually been sewing more lately, which is a good thing. I have to make up for getting nothing done in November and December! LOL Love the pics of kitty! :0)

lol Hermione in the box - my Mom's cats do the same thing - let's see how small a container we can fit in. Once they squeeze in, they're all set for nap time. As far as January slumps go...sometime you just need to enjoy slumping with a good cup of coffee and blogland reading :)

I know you don't like winter.. that tree looks so pretty though.... shirley is very talented and my other mother is a star.... I've just rechanged my embedded as I heard that got rid of captcha... will try not doing anything with them as the 3 steps process is annoying

I don't know, Allie - I think the next time we meet up you're going to have to bring Hermione for me to play with. Just sayin! Now - please give your mom a bowl of ice-cream - it should put a smile on her face ;) I know about the January slump too - I just can't get motivated to do much! I pretty much blog only to have a post for Monday Makers, lol. I think when the weather gets a bit less obnoxious things should get back to a more even keel. I don't really see the inertia as a bad thing, though - sometimes we just need to zone out and let our minds wander :D

I love cats, they are so funny! There are times when I feel unmotivated, too, and my game of choice is poppit. LOL Thanks for sharing Shirley's quilts. What a great idea! Your pop-up box didn't ask me to do the robot thing. =)
