Three Months

Boy, that seems like a long time to be gone.  Can't tell you what I've been doing, not sewing, that's for sure.  Although I did finish one project [I'll show you in a minute].  Let's see.....lots of reading, and spending time with family.  Oh, and I spilled tea on my laptop keyboard.  It didn't like that, we had to get a new keyboard [ebay, cheap] and all is well now.

My sweet friend Mickie from 3P&N did a really cute cottage stitchery, and I admired it so much I had to do it too.  It's a free download from Needlecrafter.com and you can add the wording yourself, using Microsoft Word.  Just print it out in a font you like and trace it.

I was going to use this precious fabric from an old apron for a border.  The fabric is not in the best shape, and the apron wasn't very well made, see the stitching?

I was going to add rickrack as well.

There were a few construction issues, and by the time I had the rickrack on and it was trimmed, there was nothing to add a border to.  So it became binding.  I think it turned out fine anyway.  I used the apron fabric for the backing, as well.  It makes me happy and that's what counts.

You may have heard that Google Reader is shutting down.  I found this post that gives some great alternatives, not sure which one I'll go with yet.

Also, you may have heard that Jenny from Elefantz has started up her e-zine again - WHAT a happy day for blogland!  I'm absolutely drooling over the new issue and can't wait to get started.  She also has a new pattern released,

Romeo Roses, so gorgeous - head on over and check it out, she's having a give-away as well!  So very glad you're back, Jenny-girl!

And now, back to my 3 month silence....I have to tell you that I still don't feel much like blogging or sewing, and I'm not sure how much blogging I'll be doing in future.  I am enjoying keeping up with you all, but have cut back on my blog reading overall and have not been commenting hardly at all.  I can't really blog when I have nothing to share, so there's probably a bit more silence to come!  All up in the air right now, I'm not going to make any decisions about whether to continue blogging or not.  So you're not rid of me just yet. *G*

Oh - and if you enjoy vintage embroidery, I did upload a new set to my flickr.

All the pics in the set are here.  If you have any trouble downloading, feel free to email me.
See ya soon!

So, glad to see you back, Allie! I think about you sometimes. It's so funny, I'm in the middle of writing a post to publish little later today, that also says it's been three months since I posted and I talk about readers. Have a great weekend.

Hi Allie! You've been missed, that's for sure. I'm using Feedly now instead of Google Reader and I love it! :0)

When I took 'hiatus' from blogging, I finally got to the point where I had something to say again. I hope you will too! I didn't comment much during that time because it seemed odd not to have anything to share in return.
Just take your time and do what feels right without obligation

I will keep you in whatever reader I finally choose, so drop a line when you can!

Welcome back dear! I think a lot of us are just blogged out these days. I have the same affliction but it was good to see you! Love your cottage wall hanging, think it turned out really wonderfully! Love you gal and hope all is well in your neck of the woods! Hugs, Mickie

Welcome back, Allie -- even if it's just sporadically. I am also experiencing the blogging blahs -- not posting much or commenting either. Anyway, It's great to hear from you again.

Your cottage is so adorable -- love your color scheme and the vintage fabric (of course).

It's lovely to see you blogging again, but I know most, if not all of us are familiar with the need sometimes for a break. Take whatever time you need to refresh - we'll be here :) I see that Mickie made it to the comments before I did - I've visited IRL with both of you, so I have a big smile on my face right now just remembering our meetings :D

Your stitchery is lovely - I can never get rick rack placed so perfectly :D I'm very ticked @ Google for taking away Reader - the replacements don't compare. I tried (Blogly?) but didn't like it, and I'm now using Feedly. I'm not impressed with it either, but I'm getting used to it. I'm actually hoping Google will change their mind and not take away the reader - fingers crossed, lol!

Missed you Allie! Love the way you stitched the cottage and added the wording! And how fun to use the old apron to finish it off. Glad you stopped in for a word or two, hop you will continue to share every now and then.

It is lovely to hear from you even occasionally, just to hear that you are ok. No need to be a regular blogger when it is an effort to find things to blog about, but the occasional post to say I am still here and all is ok is good too. Love the little stitchery and the way you have finished it with the ricrac makes it very cheery.
Take care my Friend. Hugs xx

Welcome back and welcome to the sporadic bloggers club! I'm not all that into blogging right now but then I really never was all that great at posting something regularly. I like your Goldilocks cottage, very cute.

Happy Day! You're back :) Have missed your postings. I've been on a long hiatus as well, guess it happens to us all from time to time. Its all good, though.
Love the little couple. Gonna have to give it a go. Concerned about the reader, too. I wonder if the widget of those bloggers I have listed on my site will be affected. That's where I generally go to see current blogs. We'll find a way somehow.

Great to have you back! Your stitchery looks great, and it may have been a happy accident that there was nothing to which a border could be attached. I love it just as it is. Thanks for the vintage designs.
