Travelin' In Style

Do you remember my telling you my son totaled his car?  Well, he's got a new one.  New to him, that is.

Not sure what's up with the flamingo pose.

Oh my.  It's gorgeous.

Yes, it's a Mercedes-Benz.

That's what happens when:

  • You pack a lunch for work every single day
  • You don't buy a lot of new toys for yourself
  • You live at home with mum and dad, and pay minimal rent
  • Your father is an ebay EXPERT at finding the deal of the century
He let me drive it tonight.  This is now our road trip car, lol.  So smooth....so fast...and on the console, separate heat controls for the driver and passenger [you can set the temp you want], and heated seats, much appreciated by mum.  He got such a great deal on this thing, he could sell it tomorrow for triple what he paid.  But he's keeping it, at least through the winter.  It's a good solid car and I will rest easier, knowing he's safer than in his old tin can.

In other news, I'm still stitching away, and hope to have something to show for it soon.  I haven't been in the Christmas spirit much, although Cheryll is hosting One Week of Christmas, where you can show off your Christmas decorating by linking up to her posts.  So fun - I love seeing all the decorating!  I don't have a single thing out yet, but that might change this weekend.  Have you all decorated yet, or are you too busy stitching??

Congrats on the new - and safer!! - car ... and that flamingo pose KILLS me, lolol!!

We did our Christmas decorating last weekend. We don't do a lot - in fact, we do less every year :D Hubby put up the outside lights in mid-November. The tree is up and decorated, and DS2 found some old old goodies in the Christmas boxes, that he and his brother had made as littlies. He picked bits and pieces of those to put out - funniest thing ever! I picked a few favourite items as well, and that's the extent of our minimalist decorating!

Wow. Gorgeous car, and definitely sounds like the perfect road trip car. Not too much in the way of decorating here yet, waiting for a visit from some Grandies to help with the tree. Hopefully I can have them visit this weekend.

Awesome car. I haven't put any decos up yet. I have been looking at Cherylls place. It is so festive. I have done a bit of sewing.

Love the car! :) He looks cute, your comment about the flamingo stance cracked me up! We do less decorating each year but I do have a tree up. I've got it down to two boxes of ornaments and a tree and am happy with that. In our little cottage less is way more! :)
Hugs and happy motoring with that handsome lad~! Mickie

oooh, very nice. My husband had an old BMW as a company car. It was over 10 years old but it was gorgeous, so smooth. he was gutted when the company went bust and he had to give it up.

Didn't you know? the flamingo pose is how us cool, young things stand... OK, so I can't really include myself in that!

Oh my gosh Allie, give your son a big hug for me cause I am delighted he got a new (to him) car and a Mercedes to boot!!! Also, I thought the flamingo pose was great, LOL. On the decorating front, the only thing I have done is hang a couple of my winter wall hangings and I have two wonderful ornaments that were gifts to me hanging on my mantle clock. Of course the only decorating I do anyway, is to put out my little 30" fiber optic lighted tree, and my nativity and that will take me all of 15 min. LOL. Since all the kids and grandkids moved out, I just do the simple thing and I love it. But now that you mention it, I really should take those 15 minutes and get it done, huh? I'm anxious to see what you have been stitching away on. Big Hugs....

Oh my! What a gorgeous car! Congrats to the car owner!

If I had it my way we wouldn't be doing any decorating this year. Somehow I just know that once it all comes out it is going to be my problem to put it all back.lol Hubby wants a little tree (he's worried I will be upset if we don't have something) but I have set boundaries on this. It has to be pre-decorated and it has to fit on the dining room table.

Not that I am not feeling it this year, in fact I am done with homemade gifts and most my shopping, but really? Too much with crutches.

Good luck with all your stitching. I finally made it back to the sewing room yesterday :)

What a beauty! Don't you just love the little details like the wood? And the seat warmers, ooh la la. Not only is your son a cutie - but he's smart too. Good for you. Now go put out some decorations! LOL

I have owned several Mercedes and they are my very favorite car. Great on gas! The last car I got hubby gave me a choice of an audi or mercedes (used of course). I picked the Audi because the gas milage was suppose to be so much better but it is not! I love my little car but sometimes wish I had picked the mercedes! He will enjoy this car.

That's great. Good for him. They are good cars. Ebay is so great. We have bought lots of really good cars on ebay. I think buying from people on ebay you find a lot more honesty than you do on the used car lots!

That is a very stylish car!!! You made me laugh with the comment about the flamingo pose.

Great car! Hope it has low mileage. Repairs would be expensive, but they are wonderfully safe.

That is such a great looking kid and car ~ a perfect match! What a great example of how not frittering away your money you can own something of value. I hope he will drive this with great pleasure for many many trouble free miles. PS the picture of your Mom with the bow on her head is hysterical :)

Ooh. Nice car! Maybe since he is paying minimal rent he'll let you use it now and again!!
