The New Do And A Complaint

Ok, you asked for it...here's the new me.

014    3

I feel better now.  It may not look like this every day, I don't like having to pull out the blow-dryer and flat-iron.  But I do like it.

And now the complaint.  Word Verification - need I say more?  Carrie, Karen and Lori have all posted about it as well.  I read a LOT of blogs, comment on a lot of them, and this is driving me crazy as well.  On most, I have to type in the word and a number, and I can't see either of them well.  I only try once to type in the word - if it's wrong, you're not getting a comment from me.  Which drives me nuts, as blogging is a very sharing community, and I love to leave comments!  But since my time is so limited these days, I'm not even going to try once.

Blogger has a wonderful spam folder that spam comments go in.  I check mine once in awhile - mostly they're emailed to me and I can go in and delete them.  They never show up on my blog.  I love this blogging community, and I love to make friends here, but if I see something like this

then I'm done.  I'll read your blog but you won't hear from me.  I can't even read that, can you????

If you don't know if you have word verification or not, go to your blog and try to comment.  See if it's easy for your readers.  If you have it, Lori tells you how to get rid of it.  If you decide you still want it, by all means keep it, I'm not saying you should all do as I do - but if you don't hear from me, then at least you'll know why.

And now I really, really should get some sewing in...I think I'll pick up some of those half square triangles that are glaring at me from the sewing machine and get busy!  I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

I hate word verification!! Sometimes it's fairly easy to figure out, but mostly it takes 3 to 5 or 6 tries - what a load of crap! I'm going to stop posting too, if it doesn't work the first time. Blogger really needs to come up with something better, or at least make the captcha's less gibberishy!

Love the haircut - but what is this thing you call a flat iron??!? Sounds medievally painfull, LOL! ;)

Absolutely love your new do!
On the same page with verification. Many times would have loved to comment on someones post, but too much of a pain!
Have fun sewing :)

Nice new 'do, Allie!! :-) And I got rid of word verification a while ago. I have to REALLY like a post to comment on it while struggling thru that!!

Your hair looks wonderful. I got mine cut and of course it doesn't look like it did when she did it, lol. The humidity has turned it in a frizz ball. I hate those too, I used to be able to do them with just the letters, now it won't work without the numbers and they are so fuzzy and mushed, no one can see it.

Love your new do! You are so beautiful! Also, I agree about that word verification thing. I'm like you, I may not leave a comment on a post because that comes up and I just leave.

You look FABULOUS darling!!! Love the new do, but I'm with you, hate the fussin' with the hair thing, so I'm all about pony tails, and I have about a dozen of those clipie things that was in your last picture!! LOL!!!!!!!!!

Word Verification - hate it!!! If you are that worried set your blogger to notify you to approve the comments before posting..is that what you said? That's what I do, I'm with you not leaving comments if I have to struggle with those awful word thingies.

Have a lovely weekend my dear, love the new do!!

hugs!!!!!!

I turned off my words verification months ago. I still approve all comments so the occasional spam doesn't get through.

You look fabulous! I love the new "do"! I think it makes you look younger! :0)

What a wonderful photo of you!! I agree with you about those unreadable words. I try once and that's it.

Love the new do! I hate word verification too. You are right, can't read the darn things.

Awww! Love your hair!!! Hope you are doing well.

Agreed! I'm not only old, I'm nearly blind and can't see let alone decipher those squiggles.

Hair? I really miss mine - but it's sure easy to take care of now!

Love the new haircut... and you can still tie it back on those hot days... the WV can be a pain... not many of the blogs I read use it now thankfully..

YOu go girl! thanks for getting the word out too about that stinking word verification.
You are beautiful!!

You look wonderful! Love your hair!
I agree about the word verification. I have made as many as 7 attempts at making a comment. I am going blind trying to read them!! When blogger made their change to a new format, this appeared on everyone's blog, even if they had it turned off before. I didn't even know it was there until a blogging friend told me. I was horrified since I hate those things! It just isn't worth the occasional spam you get.

I agree - they are making the verification really tough. I often have them choose a different one to type in. Think I'll just turn mine off as I'd hate to miss someone's comments because of it, but I can sure understand it!
The new "do" is very nice, by the way

I like the haircut! Not a fan of word verification either!

What a gawjus pic of you Allie!!! Oh and I'm with you, I really don't like the word verification - why on earth they had to make it utterly impossible to read is beyond me!! Mine's off and staying off ;o).
Big hugs,
Joy :o)

Hi Allie....love your hair!! I disabled word verification a while back...what a pain it is. Last night I tired to leave on comment on someones blog...5 tries and gave up!! I couldn't read the letters.

Love the do!! Ditto on the word verification - my bogger nemesis!! HST sound so much more fun!!

Love your hair! You look good, woman! I would have to get out the blow dryer and flat iron to get my hair to do that, too. But I gave up with the humidity around here! I just let it go curly.

Okay, I'm so glad you said something about the word verification. I feel it has gotten far worse than it ever was. Sometimes it will take me 4 or 5 tries to get it right. So frustrating! Sometimes I just give up. I was going to copy and paste, just like you did on your post today, in my Random Thursday post yesterday. I just didn't have time. I thought it was just me being a doofus. I'm so glad I'm not alone. I would be happier if word verification didn't have to exist!

I totally agree!!!!!!!!
Cheers :)

I'm so glad you are spreading the word about how difficult work verification has become. I haven't had any problems with spam on my blog - I got rid of the verification over a year ago. I totally love your hair. I used to flat iron mine, and once you get good at it, it doesn't take too long. Although you have to have a good flat iron. Now that I get in the pool everyday - I'm curly. I hope you enjoy it.

Oh Alliie- I LOVE this picture! Your hairdo is so flattering. I'm with you on word verification. I have gotten to where I don't even try to figure them out anymore.

Love the new 'do'. I like putting a face with the name. I'm actually pretty good at proving I'm not a robot. and I'll try twice, but not 3 times.

Well you made me go check. I did not think I had word verification and I don't. So now I know you will still stop by because I would miss you if you didn't. Love the hair-do! Have a great weekend!

G,Day I agree also about the word verification. I scrolled down and came across your trip to N.Y. better than any brochure on what to see.

Great hairdo! I think I have my word verification off. Typing it in wouldn't be bad if you could read...what's with that.

Love your new "do"! Mighty pretty! I totally agree with you about the Word Verification nightmare! They are impossible to read, especially as you get older. icky!

Wendy said...

love the do! I gave up on having a do a long time ago. I pretend that my mop/afro is meant to look like that!

Hear hear on the word verficiation. I turned mine off a long time ago and never get spam. I did suddenly start getting a load, so I turned off anonymous comments as I'd never had an anonymous comment from a geniune person. I haven't had a single spam message since. I can't understand why people make it difficult for us to speak to them!

Fiona said...

You look gorgeous :)

Gorgeous photo - love the new haircut.
I am with you and many others re WV. It is quite impossible to read some of them and way too frustrating to keep trying.

Well, well...It's so nice to have a face to go with the name. You are one very pretty lady!

Chris said...

Nice to see you! While I understand the use of the verification, I no longer get angry and hammer my keyboard. I simply hit delete. Thanks for giving us a soapbox!

I think your hairstyle looks great!! I can't read the words either, and it's pretty discouraging if I want to leave a comment. I don't mind if a blogger wants to moderate their comments, but the verification has become ridiculous.

Robin (RsIslandCrafts) said...

Your hair looks great! I recently had a horrible hair cut and I'm very impatiently waiting for it to grow out.

I have a terrible time with word verification too. Sometimes I have to refresh it 4 or 5 times before I can get one I am able to read. I turned word verification off several months ago. Blogger does have a great spam checker and I haven't had any problems. Of course I haven't blog much lately but it did work earlier in the year (and still does).

You look beautiful Allie! Love your do and love your smile most of all. Your smile is like a hug! :)

word verification get's on my very last nerve. I have no time for it.

I couldn't agree with you more! Blogger almost always catches the spam on its own.

It's time to catch up on comments! I love your new look, Allie. Such a nice photo, nice to see your pretty smile!

I agree with everything you wrote about about the captchas. I've seen others complain lately, too. My rant will be coming soon, on my blog, LOL!
