The Hurrier I Go, The Behinder I Get

Seriously.  The old adage of 'if you want something done, ask a busy person to do it' does not apply to me.  The more I try to do, the less I get done.

Wendy from Sugarlane Quilts blessed my socks off the other day.   I saw a new stitch-along that she's doing on her blog, and fell in love with it - it's from Australian Homespun magazine, and of course I don't live in Australia.  The first block is in the magazine, and the rest are free downloads from their website.  She sent me the magazine, and two skeins of floss - isn't she a sweetie?  Look how cute this is, and see if you could resist it....

See???  Thank you darling Wendy, I can't wait to get started!

But that's not all.  Cori from Creativity Amongst Chaos just made a new pattern, and had a give away on her blog.  OH MY.  Cutest ever!  I bookmarked the page of her shop, so I could buy the pattern if I didn't win.  Well, I tend to browse my bookmarks late at night, when I'm sleepy, and totally forgot I entered her give away.  I bought the pattern before it ended, it's just way too cute and I had to have it.  Didn't even realize she'd have five winners...and guess who was one of them, lol!

The new pattern is called Dive In, see why I had to have it?  Bless her heart, she emailed me to tell me I won, and I laughed, and told her to pick someone else as I had just purchased it - and she offered me to let me pick another pattern!  So I picked Merry Kissmas, and they both came a few days ago.  If you love Dive In as much as I do, you can purchase it here!  The mouse wreath I'm going to make for my aunt for Christmas, I think she'll like it.

So I'm getting ready to get a lot done, hahahahaha.  Really, I am.  I have so many things going on right now....my latest free design is up on my design wall, waiting to become a little quilt.

I managed to get the strips cut, just need some time to work on it.  AND - I've been looking through some UFO's, I have so many things I've started that I think I'll give each project its own day.  Monday for this, Tuesday for that...and hopefully I'll have a finish before Christmas.  I do get a bit of stitching done while I wait in the car for mum to finish therapy, takes two hours 3 times a week.

Today I spent several hours running mum around - getting her meds, groceries, etc.  I'm exhausted, and as soon as dinner is in the oven I'm going to sit and stitch.  May have to get my jammies on first....hope you're having a great day too!

One of the sights around the metro area today....

That is so cute, I will have to check it out. We do get some of the australian magazines and the better quilt stores carry them, so will have to look for it.

Hi Allie, I have saved the lovely stitcheries in Homespun for when I get time. I fell in love with them when I first opened my magazine. Not sure when I will find the time but I live in hope. Vicki vickilorraine at hotmail dot com

Oh my gosh that is the cutest stitchery! Love it! I am in the same boat, I need to just not look at anything on blogs or go shopping for a year and I might get a little ahead. But I don't wanna not go to the quilt shops and I always want to visit all my favorite blogs.

Yep, I'm right there with ya. The more I hurry, the less I get done and then I get overwhelmed. I blame it all on blogging! haha

I love that magazine!

I love mail day when Bernie, my mailman, brings packages! Sometimes they're for the kids (they shop online a LOT, lol - one buys car parts, one buys tools!), but lots of times the squishies are for MOM, yay!

P.S. Bernie, quit bringing so many bills, please and thank you!! ;)

I went to check out the magazine website for the block designs. How very unique. A touch of whimsy in all of the blocks.

I think our Grandmothers had the right idea: Wash on Monday, Blog on Tuesday, Sew on Wednesday, Clean on Thursday, Bake on Friday, Shop on Saturday, Rest on Sunday, so you are refreshed and ready to begin again on Monday!

OH my gosh Allie, I have to admit, I am more than just a tad bit jealous ***hanging head in shame*** I have been trying to get that Homespun magazine and another older Christmas issue for two months now and can't even get close to finding one. I have been told over and over again that I have to subscribe to the magazine and that just can't happen right now. OKay, having said all that, I gotta tell you my sweet friend that I really am excited for you...There is nothing more fun than seeing people I love receive surprises that make them happy, Truly nothing!!! Happy stitching hon! I'm going to have to check out that SAL, because lately I have been confined to my recliner a lot, so I'm stitching more than sewing at my machine. Even though I have lots of projects that I have patterns for and plan to stitch, I'm always drawn to those that focus on our wonderful Lord, and this one looks like a really perfect one for that. Thanks for sharing your "happy" with us...and in all honesty, I'm not really jealous,
But maybe a tiny teenie bit envious....there IS a difference you know, LOL. Big Hugs coming your way sweetie...

They say variety is the spice of life - so having several (or more) projects to choose from is good. And I'm sticking to that story. Love the manger stitchery - not sure how I missed that one. No time to shop! Maybe this week. Have a good weekend.
