Preparing For The Olympics

Opening ceremony coverage begins in 30 minutes, yay!  I'm getting ready.

I've succumbed to the hst quilts I've seen on pinterest and in blogland.  I can't take the cuteness.  I have to make one [or two, or three].  I'm sure I'll have enough hst's to make several quilts - some for family for Christmas, and some for charity.

I'm also playing with a couple of new designs.

And some not-so-fun sewing.

While keeping an eye on this.

That's north of me, but the threat will continue til around 10pm.  As long as we have power, I'll be glad!  We desperately need the rain.

I've been doing awful at my 15-minute/day challenge from Sandra.  I've also been terrible at visiting blogs.  Part of the problem is that hubby has been gone for 8 days, and I'm enjoying it so much that I can't seem to sit down to sew.  Watching the Olympics is just the incentive I need to sit.

So tell me - how are you preparing for the Olympics???

I am watching it too, and while I watch or not really watch, I am punching a new piece, lol. I like what I am seeing of your sketches, can't wait to see what you are making.

I love to watch the Olympics. When I first saw your picture I thought it was a pool with a red float ;-) See my brain is already at the swimming competition.

You've got some nice fabric there for your HSTs! I'm watching the weather here too but so far it's all north of us as well. We do need the rain so I guess I'll take it any way I can get it! LOL

I'm doing the same thing you are. I love the Olympic games :) I've been really bad at blogging and visiting blogs - I dont know why either *blushing* Enjoy your evening and I hope the bad storms continue to stay away from you.

I just vegged in front of the TV to watch the opening ceremonies. Now I have to finish sewing binding on.
What the heck are going to do with your hsts?

I am watching the Olympics as I write you.
Love that moon face.
Hope the storm is not bad.
We had some but they passed right by us and we need rain so bad. Have fun watching the Olympics.

I don't really watch the Olympics - I check the medal status during the evening news, but don't watch any of the sports - it makes me sad that someone always has to lose!

Rained like crazy on this side of the state today :) Has been so dry here, was almost nice to see the puddle when I got home tonight.lol I don't really watch the Olympics, the television is rarely on till late at night and the sports the guys play at around here involve boats and tromping through the woods. So jealous of the 8 days, makes me look forward to October when the guys go to the UP. Will be nice to have some downtime.
Enjoy your time :)

I have lots of hand embroidery and bindings to do...so I'll be parked on the couch much of the time while watching the Olympics. We did get some desperately needed rain, but not enough...a 20 minute downpour no severe storm. Enjoy the Olympics!! Stay cool and enjoy your weekend!!

First, I prepared some handwork. Then I prepared my hubby, "I'll be watching TV for the next 17 days." :)
Sorry for those who missed the opening ceremony. It was spectacular and surprisingly humorous. Those British!!!

I thought the opening ceremony was great! We saw the 'encore' as I wasn't getting up at 3am! I look forward to seeing how your hst progresses - and hopefully you'll get a bit of rain to cool down.

Finally I have something decent to watch on television! Yay!

I watched the opening ceremonies last night while working on my August First Friday Freebie. I'm a sports fanatic so I'll be in heaven for the next 2 and a half weeks. I have lots of hand work prepped so I'm hoping to get a lot accomplished...with the television as my assistant.

I've been doing some of that not-so-exciting sewing today too!

We prepared for the olympics by making sure we had lots of films and TV programmes taped so we don't have to watch any of it!

Hope that storm doesn't get you badly...

Love your drawings. Can't wait to see what you have come up with. Yesterday we were walking out at Metro Park and heard the storm coming. We made it back to the car just in time. It didn't rain too much though. Hope you are enjoying our cooler weather. Hugs

Wow....it's after 10 so I hope you are okay. I've joined way too many blogs and get behind like 500 to 600 post and just have to mark them as read. I just can't keep up either.

Not watching at all..not into sports at all. Probably the only one in the world who isn't glued to the tube. Hope things are shaping up for you all weather wise, it's been a rough summer for the mid-west.
