Needless to say, not much sewing is going on. I did finish Michelle's Irish Blessing, such a darling design!
Sandra, from Sandra Sews, came for a visit a couple of weeks ago, all the way from Toronto - Irish Blessing was my gift to her. I'd show you the darling bags she made me but I forgot to take a pic, and I'm too hot right now. She only came for a day and night, we went shopping [mum went too] and MAN can that girl shop. I couldn't hardly walk the next day. She's absolutely adorable and I loved meeting her and her hubby. They are Good People.
One thing I got while we were out was a new hat for Ted.....
He's the bear that Midge over at Soggibottom gave away, and I won. He had a winter hat and scarf and I thought he needed something summery. I love him so much. He seems to be handling the heat just fine.
Sandra brought a basket of goodies and my kitty, Hermione, found it. She didn't REALLY fit, but thought she did.
She hasn't been in it in the last few days, however. Far too warm. She's been hanging out in the basement, eating spiders.
That's all the news from here, I'm going to shower and head back over to mum's, to luxuriate in the air conditioning and read several books. I really, really wish she had internet, my Google Reader is ready to explode from unread blog posts. Stay cool, or warm if you're below the equator...I'll see you when the heat wave breaks!

OH NO !!! That is hot. I can understand you wanting to be at your Mum's with the air conditioning. Hoping it will be more comfortable for you very soon. Your Irish Blessing looks beautiful, and I love Ted's hat.

I think it must be hot everywhere, we've been enjoying 100+ days for the last week - wow!
It was 108 at my house, but we all have air conditioning here. It is not fun, for sure!

That is hot weather for your part of the country! In times gone past, no one had air-conditioning. Makes you wonder how people could tolerate the heat.
Miss you too! It's been 100+ here for the last 5 days. It's my first full summer in Texas - and it's YUCK! I like Texas but not this heat.
Good lord, everyone bragging about their temps. We have had one or two days over 70 since last Oct. up here in the Pacific NW. I'm dying for summer. At least I went to Las Vegas when it was 101 so I've been warm for a few days this spring/summer. *vbg* I'm a huge hockey fan, love my Canucks, but I too, cheered for LA, since they knocked us out first round. Stay cool and enjoy your time with your mom.

I do not think I quite made the 100 degree mark in our neck of the woods yesterday. But I think it got quite close. I have been staying in. Love the blessing piece and the colors you used are lovely! Hope you are still staying cool! I remember our no air days, it was not that long ago. We did not have air in the home I raised all my daughters in. We lived there for 28 years. We did have one daughter staying with us when she had her first baby and this little girl does not take heat well and we bought our first window air conditioner. We have central air now. I feel rather spoiled.
Lucky you get along with your mom. So what are the men doing? Sweltering in the heat? Before we had A/C I slept in the basement on the floor in a sleeping bag and my children joined me. Hubby didn't mind the heat.
oh my Allie, no A/C??? We just could not make it without A/C in the summer. Glad you can hang out at your Mom's.

In Perth, Aussie we know how you feel at 100 degrees. Youcan not live here without aircon as we get at least a month around those temps every summer. Right now I have the fire going as the nights are cold & winter has finally come. Finally got some Puerh Tea by mail order, like the taste. I only have that & white tea but feel good for drinking more that is not coffee. I won't mention the weight because I don't want to jinx it. I think I must have read the scales wrong, maybe weigh again tomorrow morning. Tracee xx

Same weather here in E. TN! I was in Atlanta today, and I thought I would fry on the spot. I heard 105 on the radio, and that the air quality was such that EVERYONE was advised to stay inside. Of course, no one did! Humid - ugh! This is not the desert heat!
