I Finished Something!

I was beginning to wonder if I'd finish anything anymore...I'm too good at starting things.  But I did it, I finished my brother's pillow.  Wendy had generously shared a DARLING design, and I knew it would be perfect for my brother...I also knew he needed a new neck pillow.

It has an overlapping back, but I think I overstuffed the pillow, boy was it hard to stuff it into the cover.  It's filled with shredded foam, which is why it looks so lumpy, but it feels lovely!  I also should have done a flange around the outside, but it's done and it's not getting improved upon.

A couple of things I just started, oh boy....yum yum yum....

A gorgeous pattern from Michelle, it's her own and I just love it...this will be for my mum, she wants it very badly, so I'll have to make another for me!

I've picked out the fabric for it, and forgot to take a pic.  Trust me, it's perfect.  And I also started.....

From Michelle at The Raspberry Rabbits!  This is Irish Blessing No. 1, which tells me there will be more, hooray!~  I've picked out the fabric for this one too, a jelly roll of Dandelion Girl that I won from Jan - so pretty!

It's sure hard to unwrap a jelly roll, but I'm glad I did, the fabrics in this are just gorgeous.  I can't wait to get this done and show you.  Of course, mum wants this one too.  Sheesh, can't have anything, lol!

So I will be stitching my little fingers to the bone, because there are other projects in the works too.  Which is driving me crazy.  I need some finishes.  My sewing room is a right mess, and I think I need to take some time to get organized...maybe I'll do that today.  I hope your day is productive too!

Love your pillow and the stitchery designs you'll be working on - your mom is such a hoot - you can't possibly say no to her, heehee!! I didn't have a very productive day - I ended up visiting with my neighbour - even though she lives just up the street I don't see her very often because she works odd hours. I happened to spot her at the mailbox and we ended up going out for lunch together - what a nice afternoon!!!

I'm with Fiona. I love a Jelly roll but find it hard to unroll the gorgeousness. That is a great design for a guy. Glad you are enjoying my little design. I love Michelle Mays beautiful designs and her dear little bunnies. I think your Mum is going to be a very happy Lady.

That is a wonderful pillow for your brother and love the fabric you used with it. My fingers are killing me, trying to finish a small piece and all hand quilting, ouch.

The pillow turned out just right. Lucky brother yours. I finally started the Penny Rug. Started with the house instead of the tree....I think I will just move on around and come back to the tree later. All those little leaves look...just not as fun. Happy stitching to you!

Love the pillow!
I know what you mean about finishes, I think I have started at least 3 quilts in the last week and finished not a single one.
The jelly roll is gorgeous! I sympathize with having a hard time unrolling, once unrolled you can never go back!lol

Great finish!! He is going to love it! Lumpy pillows are MUCH better than the flat ones when you use the poly-fil. Give me shredded foam any day!!

Haha! That's funny. That's like my E. Wants everything I finish. These days, I don't finish much, though. I'm not sure I've finished anything in a year!

Your pillow is great. I've thought about doing the same thing for my hubby and brother. Love all the other stitcheries in the works.

Lol!! I love the saying on the pillow!! The stuffing will most likely settle down a bit so I don't think it will be too stuffed in the long run. Your new projects are lovely too.

Love the way the fabric and embroidery work together!

Love the fishing pillow... so cute. My husband would love that. Love both the Michelle's patterns. They design such gorgeous stuff to stitch. I worked on one of (Raspberry Rabbits) Michelle's stitcheries today.
