Quilting In My Pajamas.....

has taken on a whole new meaning.  My aunt was out shopping, saw some really cute pajama pants, and bought me some.  She got to talking to my mum about them, and they decided they would make good quilts, as they're 100% cotton!  I think so too...and they were only $3 a pair.

Together, they picked out the largest sizes they could find, so I'd get more bang from their buck.  How fun is that???  I can't wait to come up with a quilt for these!

I just started making a gift for my brother's upcoming birthday, I'm using a free design from Wendy at Sugarlane Quilts, it's so darling!!!  Thank you Wendy!

Years ago, after our father died, I took my brother on a fishing trip.  He's 11 years younger than I am, so he was a little guy - I think maybe6 or 7?  All we caught was a tree across the river, but we had a lovely time.  I'm pairing this with a gorgeous fishing-themed fabric, and making a big cushion for him.  I hope he likes it, and that it brings back good memories.  I'll show you when I'm done.

Another freeze warning tonight, I'm going to be huddled under quilts, stitching away.  Sounds kind of nice, doesn't it?

A beautiful hibiscus from my friend Shirley's home.

Those are gorgeous pajamas and I'm wondering where they came from? Those remind me of vintage fabric.

What a nice gift this will be for your brother. I'm sure he'll cherish it. I like the saying on it. It's a good reminder for my son who has been waiting for quite some time to get into his health program at school.

BRrrrrrrrrrrr cold here too, but no more snow in the forecast ... hopefully that's an accurate forecast! It's still going to be cold/coolish for another week at least --- I suspect we're going to go 0-60 (cold to hot) in a matter of days, though, when the time is right!

Sweet roses jammy fabrics - they'll make a gorgeous girly quilt!

Fun pajamas! They look very comfy too. My kids laugh at me because I buy things to take apart and make quilts. Sometimes a shirt or pajamas are just the right color or pattern for a quilt.

We were in the 50's for a couple days it it felt great to snuggle under a quilt. Today it went back up to 87 so no more snuggling here.

Wow....that's a better buy than yardage. And so pretty!

Love the pj's! What a great idea!
It was really cold last night. Even more than the cold though, I am starting to be sick of the wind. Is there ever going to be a day in Michigan where it isn't windy??? Hubby is going crazy wanting to go out with the boat, but big lake fishing this year has been rough. Last time they went I had a pile of wet clothes to wash.
Have a wonderful day!

What a wonderful memory for you and your brother. I do hope he remembers the good times you two had everytime he looks at the pillow. Your new quilt fabric is interesting. I'd love to see what you are going to come up with. I have some old jeans here in BC that I will be making into a hat for little Luc. Nice, worn denim.
