Where I've Been

and what I've been doing.

I think I have about 60 more hours of quilting to go.  I've been spending 8-12 hours per day on this....ouch.  Lots of Lucy being watched, lots of audio books being listened to.  It really makes for a boring blog, though!  I love hand quilting, I love doing it for hours on end, but it means nothing to talk about here.

Later today I'm going to trace off Jenny's free BOM, just to give my brain a rest.  I have the fabric all picked out for it.  I'll work on both projects, switching back and forth.

We've been having gorgeous weather but today it's raining.

At least it's not snow.  Speaking of snow, yesterday I pulled out the summer clothes, so Michigan, get ready for a blizzard.  It never fails that I pull out the summer stuff and it snows.

Hope you are all doing well and keeping busy - I've been visiting your blogs but not commenting much - can't believe it's been almost two weeks since I posted last.  Time is flying!

Strong work with your quilting :-) I enjoy the time to hand stitch too...though it can be a bit much for the back side sometimes!

Hi Allie, yes this Michigan weather is something else....I do think we will pay for it at some point. I happened to say to DH..."it is so nice out we should get the chair pads out of the attic and sit on the deck....soak some of that Vit D that I'm lacking"....yes beware there will be a blizzard. The patio furniture is uncovered and and the chair pads are out.....
Can't wait to see the rest of the quilt...have a wonderful week Allie

Wow ! I've only hand quilted one quilt and it took my years to finish :-) Of course I did not work on it every day. And it could probably use a few more stitches :-O

Great quilting there. It's always nice to have something else to work on. Makes life more interesting. Don't forget to get up and take breaks regularly. You don't want to end up getting all cramped.

You have been a very busy girl! Love the hand quilting!!!

Sixty more hours....girl, your rear is going to grow to that chair! LOL! Just remember to get up once in a while and move around...don't want you to have problems with your legs!

Raining here today, too. I'm trying to work on my FIL's quilt, but having machine issues. Ugh! Can't wait for my little green Viking to get back home!

XOXO,

Cyndi

You are being very diligent in your hand quilting. Nice that you enjoy doing it. When I hand quilt, I spend a lot of time doing it. It can be very relaxing.

Your hand quilting is beautiful!
I hope your spring weather comes soon and no snow! We've been having spring weather here in south Texas for a while now. About the time you start having spring weather, we'll be having summer! (UGH!)

Well done Allie!! Hand quilting is so relaxing but so many hours would give me a neck and back ache.... ouch! Been raining here aswell, but get this... 10 days ago we had snow!! Yippee!! The ground was far too warm so the snow couldn't settle but we had 2 hours of large snow flakes. Great while it lasted!!
Hugs, Sue from Cyprus x x x

Your chair looks so comfy and well loved. Your hand quilting looks great! I need to get a bit more practice hand quilting. I just finished the top for a small doll quilt that I am planning to hand quilt this week.

Hi Allie - there isn't anything that comes close to being as special or as beautiful as a quilt that has been quilted by hand. I have only done one, but I hope to be able to tackle another one someday when I retire. It is a very peaceful process indeed :)

Your hand quilting looks great! That will be such a keepsake when it's done! :0)

I can't wait to see your finished quilt. I too love hand quilting but haven't had too much time to do it. Wasn't that a wild storm we had last night? Hopefully the sun will shine today. Hugs

Allie dearest, omgosh, I freaking love that chair. I'm coming to your house and I'm going to sit in her. Wait is your favorite batting to use for hand quilting? I have some tops I'm going to hand quilt and I wonder what you think?

Hooches and smugs.

Is that an embroidered double wedding ring quilt I see? Funny, I am working on the same one, but still working on the embroidery. It has been in the 80's the last couple of days here. Too hot to have something draped across me!!
