Spring?

We're experiencing some rare spring days here in Michigan...feels more like May than March!  Makes it hard to stay inside and quilt.  I took the day off yesterday to run errands and go visiting, so lovely to get out and enjoy it.  This was all the clouds I could see in the sky....

Yes, I know they're not really clouds.  *G*  These little guys were enjoying the sun at McDonald's, waiting for a stray french fry to fall their way.

Later, while visiting our friend Shirley, I stepped outside and saw Jupiter and Venus side by side in the sky, amazingly bright!

Don't you just love this time of day, that cozy feeling when everyone's home, the day is winding down, time for laughter and a shared meal and a catch-up of your day....

...windows open to catch that first little chill of evening...bliss.

And yet, as much as I'm enjoying this taste of spring, I'm waiting for that other shoe to drop, to wake up to howling winds, grey skies and white stuff falling from the sky.  I know it's lurking in the wings, waiting for me to let my guard down...all part of the charm of spring in Michigan!

I'm also getting that spring cleaning urge, wonder if I can enlist some help around here....it won't be voluntary, I know that!  Are you feeling the urge too?  I'd love to hear any tips you might have for making it as painless as possible!!

That's my most favorite time of day too Allie for the exact same reasons you mentioned!

I'm ready to spring clean around here, but I wait until May when all the pollen has gone. Otherwise, it's just pointless.

Come to Florida before it snows there. Your pictures are gorgeous.

I know - I'm waiting for the other shoe to drop too - the weather is just TOO nice for this time of the year - I suspect we're going to have to pay for it one way or another! In the interim, though, I'm hanging out as much laundry as I can! :)

Painless way to get spring cleaning done: bribe the kids to do it!! (Yeah, it wouldn't work in my house either, LOLOL!)

I know what you mean about waiting to let your guard down...everytime that I suggest I could start riding my bike to work, we get more snow !

We had snow coming down today, at least it didn't stay. We are now getting winter in the Pac NW, I'm cold every day! Painless? Hire someone, that's what I do for spring clean in the yard!

Jupiter and Venus were quite striking in last night's beautiful sky!! I'm glad you mentioned it. I was so delighted when I ever stepped outside and looked up, but had no one to share with. We've been having some incredible weather, as well, and I've had an equally difficult time settling down to some sewing!

I can't believe this weather and am walking each day, taking advantage of it. I too think it's too good to last. Awesome pictures. Thanks for sharing.

Beautiful pictures, Allie! It was quite warm here today. 80 degrees! But we enjoyed it. I saw a cute little wren this morning gathering some straw in his beak. Hope I can spot their nest this year. They build them in the strangest places sometimes!

Such lovely pictures Allie - the sky is so blue blue.... sorry, no spring cleaning tips - I tried ignoring it but it wasn't very successful!

The evening is my favorite time of the day too. I was just talking to Hubby last night about how nice our evenings have been. It's usually getting hot by now so we have been enjoying the weather.

Since it's hot down here in Florida during Spring I usually do my Spring cleaning in the Fall. No volunteers here either lol.

Great post Allie. I love the turn of seasons especially what we are having now - summer into Autumn. We had huge thunderstorms and hot yesterday, so waking up to a cool washed day is wonderful. Hope you don't get too much more snow.

Lovely photos Allie. Wee birdies so cute. No spring cleaning here either. In fact I think I need a wife to do all my other chores so I can just stitch. LOL!

Early spring is always lovely. We've had a late summer with lots of dry heat - but only in the next few days is the temperature dropping - like you we are cautious about autumn actually being here - there's likely to be a few scorching days lurking. I think April will be the month that is most similar weather-wise.

Hope the handquilting is going well. Lovely stitches.

Oh I am loving this weather too! It is so nice but "Sweet Hunter" said tonight...we will pay for this weather in a couple of weeks! And we will. It got up to 80 degrees here today!

I love that photo of the birds, Allie!

Gorgeous photos. It's starting to cool down in our part of the world and even though it hasn't been a particularly hot summer, it was hot enough for me through February. I love our winters - they are quite mild - cold nights, but lovely days - beautiful weather to get outside and get things done. I've been getting into cleaning as well - kitchen almost finished, my wardrobe has been done. My craft room/sewing room also on my list. Lots to reorganise there. Good luck with your recruitment - never get volunteers here either!

I guess instead of taking a little cat nap in the gazebo, I should have been looking up at the sky. Great photos! I actually turned my a/c on because my house is soo hot or maybe it's just me. I feel like I have a bad sunburn inside my body but it's just a hot flash that's sticking around far too long.

At least if we do get snow again, we'll know it won't last for long. I wore my sandals to work! Weird weather! Hope you have been safe from the tornadoes!

Oh Allie, Your post was just so beautiful. Beautiful photos, and talking about the things in life that are important - the little things that make us happy. (As for the spring cleaning, I actually do mine at Christmas time. Which is kind of dumb - as I'm already so busy. But it works for me.)
