It's All Good

Well, spring has disappeared again, typical March.  Things are greening up, but it's chilly enough to have the furnace on and to wear winter coats.   NOT HAPPY.

Can anyone tell me what kind of tree this is?

Is that a Weeping Cherry?  I love it whatever it is.  My favorite springtime tree.  I think.  At the moment, anyway.  They look like a fairy tree!

I won a give-away a couple of days ago, from Marybeth at MB in MI - a darling Reunion charm pack, 2 small journals [fit perfect in my purse!], CHOCOLATE and sunflower seeds!!!  Thank you so much Marybeth, I love it all!  You should go see what she's up to - she's making New York Beauty blocks and are they marvelous.  I love that design but it scares me half to death, lol!

Last night I finished listening to Crooked House by Agatha Christie, 5 discs, 70 minutes each.  THAT is what gets me through frantic hand quilting.  I'll be starting a new Agatha Christie tonight.  Good heavens, it's almost 6pm, I think I'd better get started!

I'll leave you with a pic of mum and Greta from last night - Greta really, really wanted the cracker in my mum's hand.  Or maybe it was the peanut brittle...I don't think Greta cares either way.  For that matter, neither does mum.

I believe that is a weeping cherry tree. I have one too. There is a proper name for it but I don't know what it is.
Congrats on your fun win. No New York Beauties for me. That is one quilt I will never ever make. I can say never. lol

Yes I think it is a weeping cheery. They are so beautiful.

I will check out the blog. You won some sweet fabric. Congrats to you.

I hope you stay warm and it's nice hearing from you .

Cute fabric. I am no gardener so I have no clue about trees or other plants.

I love Agatha Christie books. I will have to check at my library and see if they have Crooked House. I've not heard of that one yet. She was such a prolific writer.

Sure is a pretty tree. Your guess is better than mine, I thought it was a Cherry Blossom. Congrats on your win Allie.

As far as the tree goes - well it is some sort of ornamental fruitish sort of tree. :0).....Is that helpful?? Lovely win for you. Your mom and Greta look just wonderful. One day soon you will get to be warm, lol.

I checked out the tree, and it's officially a Fairy Tree! At least it should be. Congrats on your win.

All the spring flowers and trees are so pretty right now. Well, they were until we had a freeze the other night. My magnolia bush was covered in pink blooms and now they're all brown.

That's a beautiful tree whatever it is. Looks like a weeping cherry to me, but I'm no expert.
Sorry about your cold spell. My air conditioner is running as I write! Our spring lasted a week!

Congratulations on your win!

It's cold here too - the weather is bizarre! It's March and it's SUPPOSED to be cold, but the 2 weeks of warm we had was a such a tease, lol! I'll be happy when it warms up permanently :)

I don't know, but I think you might have identified it correctly. I saw one in my neighborhood and wanted to find out and get one, too. It is the time to plant them, I think!

I love all the flowering trees you have coming out. The magnolia in the previous post is magnificent. Your mystery tree is very pretty. It certainly looks like some kind of flowering cherry tree. Great fabric win. I hope your weather settles down soon. We have lovely autumn weather now with clear days and crisp in the morning but lovely and warm during the middle. I don,t think too many Queenslanders will be sorry to see the rain gone for a while.

Hi Allie :)
Ooooh we have one of those trees in our garden! We call ours a Cherry Blossom in the UK :)
They are fantastic trees, and because they flower early in the year we get lovely colour for 6-8 wks :)

*hugs* Heather x

The Reunion fabric is so great. What a great prize! Glad to see a post from you. Hope all is well.

I tried that Frixion pen on some deep red fabric today and it left a white mark, just like you said. So, I think it's just for white fabric for me, too!
