Mrs. Claus Has A Birthday

I hadn't been to my mum's for a few days, but we went over to celebrate her birthday tonight.  She's been a busy little elf!

Not sure what she's saying in this picture, but it doesn't look good for me, does it?  I thought you might like to see her decorating.  This woman doesn't know the meaning of "enough"!  Here's a close-up of her tree, there are 40 ornaments to the square inch.

I know there's a tree under there somewhere!  I didn't get a pic of her coffee table, which is a staging area for anything too heavy to hang.  EVERY surface is covered. There are 3 chairs you can't sit in.

Oh look, here's a place to sit, AFTER we moved things.

This is a wreath I made for her years ago, she was gluing some loose ornaments on before we hung it.

The fireplace.

This is my favorite ornament - she makes these out of light bulbs!

And look what she got for her birthday!!!

Just kidding.  That's our friend's little girl, Arianna.  Mum had a great birthday, and we ordered pizza and had cake and ice cream too.  Our friend with the little girl works at Tim Horton's, and brought 2 huge bags of donuts and bagels and muffins too.  Let's hope I don't get a call that she's gone into a diabetic coma!  I know my brother will do his best to eat it all before she does though.

Seriously, I LOVE my mom's decorating, she's so over the top and loves Christmas SO much, she makes it even more fun.  I have no clue who all the stockings are for...there's just her and my brother!

I have to show you something else.  Fiona from BubzRugz sent me this photo of a quilt she finished for Christmas, but couldn't blog about.  It's GORGEOUS.

Didn't she do a great job?  I LOVE the colors in this!!  But gee, would you look at the green in that pic?  Yes, it's summer in Australia, and I for one am so jealous!

Tomorrow at midnight is our give-away for the Christmas Club, our final draw!  Can you believe we've been at it all year?  Remember to link up at this post if you're finishing up at the last minute!  I'll see you all tomorrow night!

Happy birthday to your Mum. Wow, love her decorations. Doesn't she look like you? Fabulous. Yes, it's very green in Australia - well, where we are anyway. It's rained most days for the past few weeks - not a lot, but enough to keep everything green and growing. Hoping it will stay this pleasant for Christmas as they had been predicting a scorcher! Love the quilt as well - Fiona is a great quilter. Hope your Christmas is lots of fun.

Happy birthday to your Mom. I love her over the top decorating. If I weren't so lazy I'd do that too, but I get lazy just thinking about putting everything away. That quilt is really pretty.

Happy Birthday, Mrs. Claus! And I love your mum's decorating! What fun for you to get to visit that Christmas wonderland (and not have to get it out/take it down/store it) -- hope the Christmas countdown is ticking along without a hitch in Allie-land! It would be a lot of fun to have as many gorgeous handmade gifts to give as you do -- hey, no wonder, since your mother is Mrs. Santa! You were born for it.

OH Allie, I enjoyed this post so much. I LOVE LOVE LOVE your moms decorating because it reminds me so much of my mom. I lost her to breast cancer when I was just 26...Christmas hasn't been the same since. Every year I see moms and daughters shopping together like we used to do and I envy them so. I'm happy for them to, that they have each other but oh how I miss having that fun shopping time with her this time of year. Every December 1st I start thinking about all the years I have missed her so at Christmas and it just overwhelms me. I don't decorate anymore, just a small fiberoptic tree and always my Nativity, a couple of small items on the piano and I'm done. BUT, seeing your moms decoration really cheered me up this morning. Thank you so much for sharing her with me for a bit and give her a big Happy Birthday hug from me when you see her next. Hugs coming to you too and have a very Merry and blessed Christmas my sweet friend.

Wow! What a beautiful Christmas house! We hardly get more than a few decorations up at all but that is more than most Japanese. We gave up on a Christmas tree when the cats started knocking it down at the beginning of the season.
