Success

We went and got Sam's brace adjusted today, hooray.  He's fine now - he can sit without it crunching into his ribs.  Not comfortable, but no longer painful.  It was very chilly today.  I walked outside with just my hoodie [well, and pants and a shirt] and found myself wishing for my winter coat.

Sunny, and raining, squall lines moving through.  It was pretty.  Most of the trees that have turned have lost their leaves, but a few are hanging on.

Right next to the doctor's, we spotted this beauty.

It says Silver Streak - not a clue what it is, but I like it.  The sun was shining through our sunroof, but we were about to get wet!

I heard on the news that there were lots of rainbows about today, along with rain and SLEET.  Sleet is a four-letter word around here.

I've been having a dreadful week sleeping.  I lay awake until 8am, even with taking a sleeping pill, and don't wake until noon.  Not the best way to get things done.  At least, when I can't sleep, I can stitch quietly....

But I'd much rather do it in daylight, easier on the eyes.  I'm anxious to get this project done and written up, as I've already drawn another.  And my deadline for this project is Monday, the last day of the month, so I can get it in under my deadline for our Christmas Club.  Think I'll make it?

I'm afraid I've only been lurking on your blogs, not commenting.  I feel awful about that, as it's my favorite part of blogging.  I'm trying to stay off the computer late at night, as I think it contributes to my insomnia.  And during the day I'm designing, stitching, and playing taxi driver.  Hopefully I'll do better this weekend, and be back to being a pest regular commenter on your blogs.

Have a wonderful Friday!

Glad Sam's brace is more comfortable, but I'm sorry to hear about your sleeping problems; I'm not surprised...you went through difficult times and I hope they've come to an end now.
I think you're right switching the computer off earlier in the evening, trying to get out of that insomnia trouble, getting in to a healthier rhythm.

Cheers!

Jeanneke.

I'm sorry you've been up with insomnia. Maybe excess time on the computer can do that. Biorhythms get messed up. Take it easy and do what you like.

I am so glad your son got his brace fitting better.
I couldn't believe what we woke up to this morning! BRRRRRR

I saw the most beautiful clouds the other day when I was coming home from Charlotte. They looked like ribbons intertwined. Just breathtaking! I do love the handiwork of our Maker, don't you?

That Silver Streak is a beauty. Wasn't that the kind of car in the movie Cars?

Yay! So glad that they were able to adjust Sam's brace so that it was - at the least - no longer painful! Bless him, he's such a trooper!

Lovely photos, as usual, Allie. And yes, I think you'll get your stitching done...you're a woman on a mission! :o)

Chat soon!

XOXO,

Cyndi

I'm so glad they were able to get Sam's brace adjusted. I hope you get some sleep too! John has trouble sleeping and it's so hard on him.

It was cold here too. hope the adjustment for Sam's brace works out. So sad to hear about your insomnia.
I think parts of Europe have had sleet already so we're doing pretty good so far. As for Denver a couple of days ago? Snow - even if it didn't last, it fell.

Ohhh, Allie, have have nights just like yours.
I get up play Mahjong on the laptop. Mind boring enough to eventually to get me drowsy enough to get back to sleep. I am sleeping later into the day that what I like. Thank goodness I don't have that many commitments during the days.

Thanks for the great pics on such a sunny day.

So sorry you're not sleeping, sweetie! In my opinion, there's nothing worse. I hope the bad jag passes soon. And I can't wait to see a reveal on that absolutely adorable Christmas project you've dreamed up! Thanks also for the absolutely gorgeous fall tree. I'm a person who needs to keep being reminded that we love fall....

Hello lovely Allie! xx

I've been quiet in blogland lately too... just doing a bit of catch up and thought I'd pop on over for a cuppa! I hear you sweetie with the sleep issues, 5am for me lately then having to get up for school runs. It's not much fun is it?!!! But I am finding that staying off the pc at night is helping and I hope it helps you too! Look after yourself sweetheart! Love your photos sweetie, and that tree is awesome! I hope that Sam is doing okay, please give him my love. xxxxxxxxx
Love to you too!!! Vikki xoxo

HAHA I'm glad you weren't out running around sans pants - that would have been quite entertaining! ;)

I'm glad the back brace adjustments workedo out - that must have been a big relief for both of you! But girlfriend you need to get some good sleep - have you tried any of those naturopathic remedies? I don't know what they recommend for insomnia, but hopefully you can find something!

Don't worry about not commenting on blogs - we all have to do that (amongst other things) sometimes, so we can keep up with all the stuff we need to do. Sometimes I "mark all as read" my blog reader otherwise I'd be falling further and further behind. And - really - I'd like to have a little talk with the person/people who made it de rigeur to respond to every_single_comment - I started doing it a while back when I realized pretty much every other blogger was doing it, but sometimes I'm tempted to turn off comments on my blog just to save ME time, lol!

Glad to hear about the brace being a little more comfortable. Poor kid! I had problems sleeping and I think I found a few things that work for me. Nothing in the bedroom that adds to insomnia like my iPad, cell phone or having the tv on with a timer of course. I only drink 1 coffee but usually around noon. It seems to work for me.
