Shut The Fridge Door!

And turn off the water, lol!  Oh brrrr it is cold here, and wet and rainy....my boys [hubby and son] went to the range today for target practice, and came home soaking wet.

Yesterday, I ran errands most of the day.  One of my stops was at the pharmacy where Cathy-Of-The-Endless-Machines works.  She had finished a customer quilt, and hadn't taken any pics, so I took them for her.  Couldn't hold it up and take pics at the same time, you'll have to use your imagination.

Lovely, isn't it?  I wanted to sneak out with it, but she was keeping an eagle eye on me.

Another errand was to the produce store.  They wanted .99 PER LEMON.  What?  I think I'll grow my own.  Then I went to Walmart, and got some new slippers....

My old ones were down to the plastic, it was time.  I uploaded that pic to flickr, and not five minutes later, Terry commented that she has the same slippers!  Aren't they comfy, Terry?  I love them.  How fun to know we match!

Today, since it was so rainy and cold, I stayed inside and did a lot of this.

And ended up with this!

This is the lap size, all I have to do is add the red border.  I'm so happy!!!  Tomorrow I'll press all the seams, and then press the seams of the rows of the bigger quilt and start putting them together.  It's so chilly here, it's very nice to have the iron on all day!

Because I've been so busy, your blogs are piling up in my Google Reader.  I was going to visit you all last night...I was having terrible nerve pain in my foot and couldn't sleep, but I couldn't concentrate on blogging either.  So after I post this, I'm going to open my Reader, and see what you've all been up to - not sure if I'll get to you all tonight, but I'll try!  I miss you all so much!

LOL! Just noticed the post below this, where you were complaining that it was too hot to do anything. How quickly things change. I love the quilts! Both of them. And how snazzy are those slippers??

Allie, the quilt is completely wonderful!!! Your feet look really great in those snappy slippers too...especially since I'm wearing a pair exactly like them right now, LOL. I wore one pair out this summer cause I wear them all the time inside and out when I'm at home, but they are so comfy and the price is right that I got a second pair and I'm thinkin' about getting another pair to put away for future reference. After all, Fall is in the air!!! Hugs...

Those are pretty wild - in a good way - slippers! I haven't seen any like them. How fun.
Hope your foot pain goes away soon - so not fun.
Hugs.

Both quilts are gorgeous, Allie - yours and Cathy's.

I was very happy to know that you took the first photos at the store. I couldn't figure out why you would have a CVS poster on your wall at home. LOL!!!!

Wish I could share some of our warmth with you and vice-versa.

Love you BIGGIE bunches, Allie-oops!

Allie, what we Texans wouldn't give for some of that rain! We did get cooler temps, but no moisture in sight...and that includes a water restriction. What a perfect time to be pregnant, huh?! :)
It looks like you are accomplishing lots. Good for you!

We haven't had any rain this way...yet...but the cooler temps are wonderful! Isn't it great...love fall...My guys are getting ready for a UP trip in October for some bird hunting. Yearly tradition that seems to bring in the holiday season around here.
I love your slippers! Something I so would have bought!

Oooh, Allie -- it looks amazing! The cold weather has paid off, but hopefully will be gone in time for you to enjoy the weekend. It's much too early for us to be living in the icebox.

It's getting cold here too. Jacket time! And the days are getting shorter. Now it is dark when I pick my daughter up from work. That quilt is just gorgeous - great quilting, colors, design. The signature quilt is looking great. Wonderful idea to add the sashing. I'm sure it helps with slight variations in the sizes of blocks as well. Hope your nerve pain stays away.

The quilt is looking so nice, Allie -- your design with the black sashing is just perfect. This whole project is so sweet!

I can hardly believe this, but I just bought a vintage sewing machine at the Goodwill. I think I am somehow channeling your friend, Cathy!

Mama Pea said...

Oh, the quilt you're making for Kaaren is gorgeous! I love how skinny you made the blue sashing...it really helps the quilt still read as red and white. Way to go. I can't believe you have another whole quilt to go! Wow!

I need some new slippers too. I actually got mine at Walmart too a few years ago but not as cute as yours.
We are supposed to get 60 degree weather this weekend. I am looking forward to it.
