Good Weekend

How was your weekend?  Good, I hope.  My hubby and oldest son, John, went to New Jersey on Friday to pick up his new car - an ebay win - and being so close to New York, went there too, to visit our niece.  They played tourist for a day.  I am SO jealous....they went to Central Park, the World Trade Center site, Times Square, they walked across the Brooklyn Bridge, went to where John Lennon was killed [John is a huge Beatles fan], and took the subway everywhere.  My reclusive husband fell in love with the city and says he understands why people want to live there. *shock*  They also took my old camera and took horrible pictures.

My weekend was tamer.  Cathy [Sewing Machine Queen] and I went to Port Huron.  I was looking for some red fabric for Kaaren's quilt and wasn't terribly successful.  I got some but I don't know if it will be enough.  I'll make it work.  We enjoyed our day and took our time.  No pics this trip!

So, do you want to see John's new car?  It's blue, to match his eyes.  So pretty!

I think he's pretty proud of himself, lol.  I just wish he'd got something that sits a little higher - it's hard for me to get into.  I believe he gets 50-60mpg.  Pretty good!

Tomorrow is Monday, I'll be hard at work on the quilt for Kaaren.  Early Friday morning, we're going to Mackinac Island [the boys, my aunt, my mum and me] so I'd like to get as much done this week as I can.  What will you be up to this week?  I hope it's a great one, no matter what!

I'd love a day in NY, too. My Monday was spent sorting out the sewing room. Finally finished a quilt on the weekend, now need to get some order back into the room. I haven't got very far, but no sport/dancing/other interests this afternoon, so should get some more done!

Love the colour of the car. Blue is my favourite colour and that is a very pretty one. Hope he enjoys driving and stays safe.

Wow that sounds so 'flash' ady in New York. I thought the piccy's were great. Thanks for the tour John. Don't you hate after you finish a project you see the exact fabric that would have been perfect...or does that only happen to me???

Congratulations to John on his car. I love the Honda Insight - such a cool looking car, especially in blue :) I hope you all have a wonderful time in Mackinac Island...I would love to take a trip there someday.

John found a great looking car! Love the blue. The rear wheel area is strange looking though. I haven't seen that very much. It does look a bit low to the ground. Hubby and I have been casually looking at vehicles because ours is low to the ground also and he has a hard time getting in and out.

I am city phobic, I went once and didn't stay, lol. Too much traffic, people and buildings, need my open space;) Nice car and great color.

Blue is my favourite colour. How wonderful that your son won a car. Good for him - except of course for the cost of gas and the insurance.
I'm just glad it's not so darn hot and humid today. Loads to do but don't know where to start. Have a great week and weekend...

Looks like the guys had a great weekend! I'm so happy for John - how exciting winning an eBay auction for a car!!!! I'm sure he's going to love it.

I didn't do much this weekend....just stuff around the house. I'll give you a call one evening this week before you leave!

XOXO,

Cyndi

Cute car! That's great gas mileage but I wouldn't want one that sits that low either.

LOL!! I/we went to NY for our honeymoon. Jeff, growing up in CT wasn't impressed by my request to see the Big Apple, but having lived in IN, I really wanted to see all of the tourist things. On that list was to "ride the subway", "see an 'off-Broadway' show", the "upper east side", "Macy's and Gimball (Miracle on 34th Street Movie inspired)", just all of the tourist things! Put it on your bucket list Allie, it is a wonderful place to see!!
