July Christmas Through The Year, And More

Kicking off July's party a little late, that's ok - seems to be a habit now.  I admit it's hard to think about Christmas gifts right now, but we can do it!  Remember, all you have to do is make one gift for someone on your list, to be given at Christmas - and you can be in the draw for this month's give-away prize.  What that prize will be I have no clue yet, but I'll let you know!  You can join in or drop out any time, there are no rules with this club.

I completely forgot that I was going to give you a Christmas movie to watch each month.  And I don't have one for you now.  Maybe you could put on some Christmas music while you work, to help you get in the spirit.  I know I'll be turning up the a/c while I work. *G*

I do have a couple of sites for you to visit.  This first one, as you scroll down the post, you'll see links to 93 ideas - wow!  You'll find it at Thirty Handmade Days.  Thank you Kris from Dandelion Quilts for the link!  She has a gorgeous recipe there.

The second link is to a darling perpetual calendar at The Quilted Fish, thanks to Stephanie from Peas in a Pod for the link, she is a creative design team member for The Quilted Fish!

And now for the More part of this post.

The mail has been coming in, and here is the design wall today - still have more blocks that haven't made it up, oops.

I've come up with 3 different settings, so the quilts will be different but similar.  I must thank you all for your blocks and donations for Kaaren, you guys are amazing!  And I have to show you what Rosie did, she sent me this darling little hand-stitched tag, bless her.  It's hanging with my scissors above my sewing table.

Thank you Rosie, you are a doll!

Michelle from L7 Quilt Co. had a give-away, and the winners didn't contact her, so guess who was an alternate winner?  Yep!  Look at these gorgeous fabrics....

And the little "laugh" hanger, also on my scissors peg!  Thank you Michelle!  I'm thinking these fabrics might be perfect for Jenny's new  Circles of Life BOM, in her new magazine.

And speaking of Jenny's new magazine, I'm going to be the guest designer next month!  How exciting is THAT???  Here's a sneak peek of the work in progress....

If you haven't subscribed yet, you can get back issues in her etsy store!  But if you haven't, you have to see what you're missing!!

Finally, I'll leave you with a pic of our sky last night.

Don't adjust your monitor, yes it was ORANGE.  Strangest thing.  I guess the local tv news had a lot of calls about it, and he explained it was something to do with all the moisture in the air, and the refraction of the setting sun.  Very, very eerie.  At one point it was green, which in this neck of the woods usually means a tornado, but apparently it went through the color spectrum and ended up with orange.  I'm really glad it wasn't a tornado.

I want to wish all of my US friends a very Happy 4th of July, my Canadian friends a very Happy Canada Day, and all the rest of you a wonderful weekend [what's left of it] and week!  See you Tuesday!

Wow - what an amazing sky, Allie! I remember seeing an orange sky only once in my life when I was young in England - my fertile imagination was imagining the stuff from sci-fi movies!!!
