Mermaids!

My lovely friend Debbie just had a give-away, and I was the lucky winner - oh my - bless her heart, she was giving away one of her epatterns from her ecrater site, and I spotted an e-booklet that was a MUST have, asked her if I could just have the cover pattern, and she graciously sent the whole thing!  AND IT'S MERMAIDS!  Oh how I love mermaids....

Isn't she gorgeous?  Don't you just love her?  I can't WAIT to make her.  I love prim and Debbie does it SO well, she has gorgeous patterns.    Three of these patterns are for rug hooking or punch needle, but they'll adapt beautifully to applique.  I'm going to make them all into quilted wallhangings.  Thank you darling Debbie, I'm looking so forward to getting busy with this gorgeous girl of the sea!  Go check her out if you haven't visited her yet!  I think these would be perfect for wool applique as well, which I can't do as I'm allergic to wool.  Darn.

Mum is doing better today, I stopped by the library and got her lots of reading material to keep her on the couch.  The wheezing has mostly stopped and she's breathing much easier.  She's usually on the go all the time and has been so bored, lol.  The steroids seem to be making her hungry, every time I talk to her she's eating again.  To be expected, I suppose.  I better NEVER get on steroids.  Have a lovely weekend, everyone!

Congratulations! Love that pattern. It made me think of the mermaid quilt that is on Mary Lou's blog today. What fun you will have with your pattern.

What a cute mermaid - congratulations on your win! I'm glad your mom is doing better :) I think I may have accidentally been on steroids for the past 6 months (or 40 years), judging by my scales - OOPS! :D

Glad you mom is doing better, I am always hungry, but I eat small amounts throughout the day, so I guess that is ok, lol. I can't wait to see what you make.
I need to work on my large quilt, but love doing the art pieces.

What an adorable mermaid, Allie -- you always win the best stuff!

My mother also was taking steroids for a little while -- my sisters and I were taking care of her, and I remember we spent a lot of time making snacks.

What a great win! Have fun!

The mermaid is a very good prim design. I think I might put a smile on her face though. Or maybe she isn't happy having to stay in the sea all the time.

Congratulations, Allie! Luckiest girl on the planet. If we play BINGO, I want your card. Love that mermaid with her folk-art vibe. I had no idea you were allergic to wool -- thank goodness you aren't allergic to my wool. Happy weekend!

I'm glad your mom is feeling better. Better watch those steriods. One good thing about them, is you get the most fantastic complexion from them. Or at least my boys did when they were on them for their asthma. And that's a really pretty mermaids pattern. I don't think I've ever seen amy mermaids anywhere. Well I guess there's always a first for eveything.

Wow! The pictures of the storm in your neighborhood are scary! I hope your mum continues to improve. Your post about the ice cream was funny and reminded me of my mom. Have a lovely (and safe) weekend. Your displays of the items you've made and received make me smile....they're all so PRETTY!
