My Christmas Finish

There will be two posts today, I'm sorry - this post, I'm going to show my Christmas finish for January.  I want the next post to have Mr. Linky and be the official one for linking up.
I did the bookmarks from the tutorial that Shelley at 7Layer Studio made, I just love them.  Thank you Shelley for the great tute!  I used some gorgeous Jennifer Paganelli fabric, and some leftover oriental fabric from the table runner.

I'm quite pleased with them.  I used a tip from Dolores, she left a comment on my post about my having trouble with my beginning and ending stitches -  her mum would start the seam, turn the work and go back over it, then turn it again.  Dolores, it worked a treat, thank you!

My batteries came for my camera, and I was testing them out.  They don't seem to hold a charge well, so I was snapping away seeing how many pics I could get.  I took this shot through my window - I thought robins were supposed to fly SOUTH for the winter!  Isn't he a plump little guy?

I can't believe all the robins around my yard and in my trees.

My very next post will have the Mr. Linky widget on it, I'm working out how to do it.  Be patient with me, the ol' grey mare ain't what she used to be.

Beautiful bookmarks!!! Those will make great stocking stuffers :) Looking forward to seeing all the pretty things being made.

That is a well feed robin - or maybe his feathers are puffed up to keep him warm?

Beautiful bookmarks! I'm not going to make it with a January finish, but maybe Feb.!

I'm so glad you are getting all the parts to your camera.

You're quite welcome Allie. Glad you could use the tip. I grew up doing just that because I learned to sew on that dear old treadle.
I am working on my first Christmas gift and will have it finished on time.

I had the same question about robins a few years ago -- turns out that many of them now stick around all winter. How will we possibly know when to start looking for spring? (I'm already looking!)

Lucky, lucky book lovers on your gift list this year, Allie! You're off to an amazing start on your gifts.

Beautiful bookmarks my friend, wow your starting on xmas early! I've only just put the xmas decorations away and trying to forget about xmas lol.

The birds do seem to be acting strange this year, here in the UK we still have lots of Robins in the garden and the Bluetits are still here too, have been all winter, they don't usually start showing up until march!
I don't know if you've noticed, but the birds seem to be twittering and making a right racket through the night when its dark! Don't they sleep anymore?

Keep well my friend,
*hugs* Heather x

I love your bookmarks and the aqua ones are my favorite! So pretty and cheery! You are the second person in two days that has had a nice fat robin posted. And both of you were surprised that they were still around!

Nice bookmarks! Love that chilly robin too. I saw 18 deer on the U of M campus on my way in to work this am. So weird to see them on campus!

Wonderful bookmarks and great idea~! I was looking for some smaller projects for gifts for Brad's secretaries and hope to get some of these done this year! Am having a blast visiting all the sites. Thanks so much for initiating this!!! Hugs, Mickie

A most excellent finish from our esteemed partner in crime --- I mean partner in Christmas preparedness ;) Your bookmarks are lovely, and I'm glad you found a workaround for your machine woes! Your stitching is quite lovely and precise - mine tends to wobble at the most inopportune times ... like when I'm topstitching, LOL!!!

Wow, I had missed this when visiting your blog before. They are stunning. Well done you!!!
