Contentment

PICT0230     2

Every night, this is what I see.  I finish reading blogs and answering emails, then I open an audio book or a Lucy dvd, and I sit and stitch.  And stitch, and stitch.  The only other thing that gives me such a feeling of peace and contentment is holding a sleeping baby, or a purring kitty.....

No new projects right now, a spider got away from me the other night in my sewing room so a massive cleaning took place.  Dusting, vacuuming, moving furniture.  Never did find him.  But my room is nice and tidy, except for the piles of projects that I can't find a place for.  Maybe I should finish some?

If you need me, you'll know where to find me.

I have been working on my sewing room too. I am very excited about getting it back since my son moved out of our basement. I am cleaning out. I turned on Lucy today and watched it while I worked. I LOVE Lucy!

My daughter and I love watching Lucy too! I hope to one day have stitches as neat as yours! Practice, practice!

I know what you mean. I love relaxing with hand stitching. About those UFOs...I don't think we will ever have them all finished because we are always starting something new. That's the fun of quilting, isn't it!!

Hand stitching of any kind is incredibly blissful. :-)

I so know that feeling of cleaning because a spider has gotten into my room...I really don't like spiders! And I just love the fabrics in that quilt...so warm and inviting...looks like a great one to snuggle up with! And my purring kitties give me a very peaceful and contented feeling, too! =^..^=

XOXO,

Cyndi

Are you hand stitching the Paganelli fabrics, they look a little more red in the photo. Those stitches are so nice and even, great job!! I love your lemon quilt, it's fabulous!! I left a message on that post in case you didn't see it. Happy Stitching!

lol Allie! I really don't like spiders either and I would probably do the same. Tear into the area where he disappeared, make a big mess, and then start rearranging and cleaning. Too, too funny!

Good for you Allie. I was so pleased to see the photo and that there was hand stitching on it.
Don't worry about the spider. S/He eats the little bugs. At least that's what I try to tell myself.

Going off to do some of my own hand stitching now.

Your quilt and stitches look lovely! I wish I liked to hand sew, but no, it is not for me. :)

There is nothing worse than a spider that got away . . . And there is nothing better than a lovely quilting project and a good oldie TV show!

Hello, I am Cathy's (of Sunbonnet Sue Quilts) cousin,Joanne. At her request, I am writing to give you an update on her.... first, her computer finally bit the dust yesterday and her son's (Ryan) home burned down last night in NC. The home is about 75% gone. Cathy, her hubby & their dgtr, Donna, are on their way there now to help Ryan ... they all need a lot of prayer. Thanks, Joanne

Hi Allie,
Aren't audio books wonderful to listen to whilst stitching. You are right about the sleeping baby - pure bliss. It's always a joy to visit your blog.
