Mail Call

I've had some lovely things in my mailbox lately, and I thought I'd share.  Joanne over at Splitting Stitches had a give-away recently, and bless her heart, she didn't just pick a winner, she picked EVERYONE who commented.  She got a lovely new GO! cutter and look what she sent!

And they're all backed with fusible web - oh glory - what shall I make with them?  I was thinking I could dress up a hoodie [love and live in hoodies], or some t-shirts, or make a small wallhanging.  They'll have to marinate for a little while til I've thought.  Thank you so much Joanne!   By the way, she does lovely machine quilting, her other blog is Insanely Cheap Quilting - check her out!

And then, my lovely friend Mary-Kay from Quilting Junkie sent me some tiny clothepins.  I had my stitcheries from Jenny hanging on a Moda tape from a jelly roll, but with the big, regular clothespins, and was looking for small ones.  She had some and was so sweet to share!

I used the bigger ones to hang the stitcheries, I think I need to design a clothesline quilt for the really teeny ones - aren't they fun?  Thank you so much Mary-Kay!   And just to show you I'm really using them, here's a TERRIBLE picture of them in action.  It's dark now and the batteries are dead, or I'd try to get a better one.

Those are a pattern from Jenny of Elefantz, oh golly don't you just love her patterns!   In case there's someone out there in blogland who doesn't know, Jenny just had surgery on her hand and could use your prayers for a quick and complete recovery.

Things are progressing slowly on the Sis Boom quilt, I had a terrible sewing day today though - I had to rip out one block three times.  I decided to quit before I sewed a finger into it.  Some days are like that, I guess.  I hope your days are full of smooth sewing this week!

Love your Elefantz stitchings, Allie. I'm a fan of Jenny's too. And, the way you have them displayed is so cute.

Hi Allie! What sweet little gifts you received. I love getting gifts of really useful things that I probably wouldn't get for myself!

I LOVE the way you displayed those little stitcheries...that is just too darn cute!

Hope you have better luck with your blocks tomorrow. I did the same thing...was working on a bag and kept messing up the lining. I finally just had to stop before the fabric looked like Swiss cheese from being ripped out so much! :o( Hopefully tomorrow will be better!

XOXO,

Cyndi

That makes going to the mailbox fun! Those flowers/leaves with the fusible attached look wonderful to play with and the little tiny clothespins are SO cute!

Crafters are probably one of the reasons the post office isn't in worse financial shape than it is!

Oh Allie, I think I would give up too and go on to something else if I had to rip something out three times. Frustration! I love the little stitcheries you made with Jenny's patterns. They are wonderful and lucky you to win a giveaway. What about a wee quilt with the winnings?

I've got to get one of those Go Cutters one day. Think of the things you can make with all those flowers. And I see the clothespins are great with your stitcheries. I wish I could remember where I got them from but I don't know. Oh well, at least they're being put to a good use. Very pretty stuff!

What a great win Allie, love the flowers and polka dots. Those would make a fun T-shirt. I've been wanting to make a cute T-shirt from all the fun tutorials in blogland. Your clothesline quilt is adorable. What a fun project to have in your sewing room. Hang in there on the Sis Boom quilt, sometimes we just need to take a break and get refreshed.

Lucky you...can't wait to see what you will do with the go cutter flowers and leaves. Ripping out 3 times is nothing...I know you are not supposed to rip out more than 2 times, but I have done it more than 7 times on one seam. Luckily it did not damage my fabrics. I like the way you used the clothespins to display your stitcheries.
