Boy Have I Missed You

We lost our internet last week, due to storms, I guess...never lost power or phone, but suddenly the world wide web was GONE.  What a long weekend!  I haven't looked at my Google Reader yet, I'm saving that for after dinner - I'll probably be there until Wednesday.

So, what did I do with myself?  I got a machine working, that's what.  I finished up Jenny's July Challenge, I really love the way it turned out.

I couldn't find anything to use for binding, so I just stitched the backing on, turned it, and topstitched around.

I also finished Dawn Hay's design.

Another one I just love.  AND....I started cutting for my Sis Boom quilt.  Here's my design wall.....

Mind you, nothing is stitched together yet, we're still in the cutting process and then the jigsaw play begins.  But this will give you an idea of what I'm doing.  I had to borrow some Drunkard's Path rulers from my friend Cathy, and the pattern is one I found on the internet free.  I think it's perfect for these fabrics.  This illustrates exactly what I love about Jennifer's fabrics - all of them, no matter what line it's from, go together so perfectly.

I pulled out my Curve Master presser foot, that I bought several years ago and never opened.  I need to watch the video again and have some practice.  But that will have to wait - I need to go catch up on all of your blogs!  See you soon, I also traced out some more vintage designs that I'll be uploading in the next couple of days.  Have a great week!

What a sweet embroidered sentiment! And those fabrics are to die for, you're right -- that's going to be a quilt to covet.

Those are very cute stitcheries. I love the colours of the sailboat one. I know what you mean about missing the web. When I have to do something after work and I don't get time to read anyone's blogs, I get all ansty. I usually can't wait until I get home to read. It's my relaxation time.

Those are both wonderful. I esp. love the sailboat one.

I'll be curious to hear whether you find that curve master foot useful or not. I saw one at the quilt show and just couldn't decide if it was worthwhile.

So cute, Allie! You have been very busy, and I love both of your little quilts -- they're so summery looking.

The Drunkard's Path blocks are also fresh and pretty and summery -- I love circles, and this is going to be a fabulous quilt.

Love the colors of your circle quilt. Can't wait to see the finished product.

I also love the Jenny's July Challenge. Was that machine quilted or embroidered? It is beautiful.

Losing the internet is a disheartening, but it certainly gives you more time to whip up beauties like these.

Allie, you did such a great work on both your finishes. I love how you did Jenny's bird challenge. I hope to have mine posted on Thursday. Love the bright quilt too. What fun fabrics.

I love the two stitchery projects - they both turned out beautifully! I can't wait to see the Sis Boom quilt. The fabrics are gorgeous and I love the pattern, but I'm a weenie when it comes to curved piecing. This quilt may be just the inspiration I need to step out of my comfort zone :)

Your work is so beautiful...I ♥ those projects! Us quilters can always find something to do even if we are thrown a curved ball!

You never cease to amaze me! I love your work. Thanks for the sweet comment about Sweet Teen winning. She is so excited. I am in a hotel where my email is not sending so I thought I would respond here. Looks like I am behind reading your blog so I will catch up tomorrow while hubby is working and I am in this hotel room all alone!

I love your embroidery work. How many strands of DMC do you use and/or what kind of thread? I am using two strands now for a BOM project and look like heck next to yours. Any hints/help is appreciated.

Thanks

I just love how you used Jenny's stitchery. It's just perfect with your verse. I recognise it - from a song? What a wonderful reminder of God's great love for us...
