What's Wrong With This Picture?

PICT013700002

This is my sewing table.  What?  You don't see a sewing machine?  Me either.  They're both in serious need of service.  Just as I get my sewing mojo back, too.  That means lots of handwork, so it's not all bad.

I've decided to upload some of my vintage hand embroidery patterns.  I have tons, and a lot of them are in a loose, cut pile, so I don't know what company they're from.  Some of them are in rough shape, they have to be traced, scanned and cleaned up.  I'm hoping to upload some every week, but tracing is rough on my neck, so don't hold your breath.  I am anxious to preserve them though, so it will get done.  Here are the first two.  If you click on the picture, it will take you to my flickr page, where you can click on "all sizes" and download the size you want.  From my blog page, you can right-click the picture and open it in a new tab or window, instead of clicking the back button.

Jenny has a new 4-month BOM starting July 1 called Daisy-Do.  It looks absolutely darling!  But then, everything she does is darling.  She's also having a clearing out sale in her etsy shop, if you've missed some of her patterns, the time to get them is now!  Have a lovely, productive and fun-filled week, everyone!

Sorry you are without your machines! I love the glassware designs! Especially the one with the stirrer! Can't wait to see some more!

This is something to look forward to.

Sorry about your machine having to go see the doctor. I have a back-up machine or two for this kind of situation.

Allie, I think you need a back-up machine. Try looking at yard sales. That way, when the mood to sew is with you, you can still work on something.

You have a very nice work area...minus a machine...;o( I just bought a machine for my daughter for $15 at a yard sale...maybe you should find one for a spare! Hey, maybe I should keep this sewing machine as my spare...too bad I told my daughter already!!
Thanks for sharing the stitcheries!!

I love seeing photos of everyone's sewing spaces! Your table is nice and big...and so neat! I'm sure you are missing your machine...hopefully it will be back soon and you'll be happily sewing away!

Those are nice stitching designs, too. It's too bad I don't do any hand stitching! :o(

XOXO,

Cyndi

You know how much I love vintage embroidery patterns, and these transfers are adorable. Thanks for taking the time to clean them up.

Sorry about your machine -- but I do love your sewing table. My MIL gave me her old Elna which I was planning to give to my daughter, but since Emily continues to display no interest whatsoever in sewing, I am keeping the Elna (for now) as a backup.

Actually I did not see anything wrong with your picture, except for the fact that it is way too clean. Hope you get your machine back soon.

What a spesh girl you are to share those vintage designs!!! We should preserve as much of the vintagicity as we can...(no, that is not a real word, but it sounds good don't you think???)

I need to take my machine in sometime but I am waiting until I get done with the Christmas block exchange I am in. Thanks for sharing the blocks. I will keep checking to see what else you share.

I hate it when my machine needs service. I recently took mine in and now the tension is off. I have to take it back over and get it adjusted, darn. In the meantime I'm using my little machine. Thanks for sharing those darling blocks, I'll have to come back later.

Allie, this is a really good idea. I have tons of vintage embroidery transfers from my grandmothers. I think I will do this too and post them after I get my three projects finished. Do you store them on the computer afterwards or in a binder?
