It Can't Be Helped

This last week, I've really limited my time on my computer - after the assessment, I was in a lot of pain, and the weather didn't help. We've had front after front move through, and I've had some bad days. My shoulder isn't coming back like it should - I can barely use my right hand, and that just won't do. The least bit of mousing or keyboarding does me in.

So I'm going to take a break. I'm going off-line for a couple of weeks. I don't have health insurance, so seeing a dr. isn't an option - but I do have physical therapy exercises that I can do, along with some deep heat. I'm hoping a complete vacation from the computer along with that will do the trick. My big fear is permanent damage, and I need my right hand to sew! And of course, lift the ever-present coffee or tea cup.

I have no idea how I'm going to stand it - I wake up with email and coffee every morning! And check my mail last thing before bed. But I think I need to focus on treating my body kindly. I'm going to miss you all terribly - you feel like family, I spend so much time with you.

I'll be back right after New Year's Day. My thoughts and my prayers go with each one of you, to have a joyful and blessed Christmas with your families.

Merry Christmas, and Happy New Year!
Love, Allie

Oh gosh Allie, if you really really need a fix, use your left hand. My son is right-handed and he has never (to my knowledge) had a problem with using the mouse but he trained himself to use his left hand. Now he is basically ambi-dextrous.
Try it if you are feeling the need to blog. Take care and have a very Merry Christmas, friend.

You take care of YOU. I totally understand. I hope you have a Merry Christmas and a healthy one. Hey, I know you don't like the idea of splints but you can buy a little football splint and mold it to your mouth and sleep in it at night. You will be amazed at what it does if TMJ is connected to you shoulder problems. They costs about 3.00. It is worth a try. My whole family has shoulder and neck problems and it all connected to the TMJ. Get better. I will miss you terribly.

Sorry to hear about your pain. Did you ever try using your left hand? But if the pain is in the whole shoulder area I wouldn't try it. But it's a thought. Keep strong and I wish you and yours a very merry holiday season.

Take all the time you need to take care of yourself! I had the same fear the other month with my shoulder. It took weeks to heal, with lots of deep heat and ice packs, and a ton of resting it. Do the same, and trust that it will get better!

Hope you have a happy, and pain free holiday. xo

You'll be missed but knowing you are taking care of yourself makes your absence bearable... Take good care, my friend. I have a cousin who didn't take heed of her doctor's advice; to stay away from the computer for a while and she is having a terrible time.
Merry Christmas and a Happy New year to you and yours... See you in 2010...

Well, perhaps the best thing is to do your physical therapy and then your reward is the computer...are you using a laptop? If so, don't use the mouse, it takes longer but is easier on your arm to use the little pad. Good luck! I would really try using your left hand...save your right for sewing!
