Hurting.

I thought this week I'd wait to post til I went for my assessment for REAL. I started this morning. The assessment is to see how my stamina is, how much typing I can do, etc. Let me say that blogging is NOTHING like working. I am so sore this evening....I have a pinched nerve in my neck, that runs down my arms, which is why I had to stop working at data entry so many years ago. Now my neck is filled up with arthritis, along with the rest of me, and I have fibromyalgia. That's why I'm doing the assessment, to see what kind of work I'm best suited to. I was hoping it would be clerical, which is what I'm used to, but I don't think it's meant to be.

Last week I didn't do much - other than working on the stitchery I bought from Vikki at Sew Useful Designs, called Mother's Love. I LOVE this stitchery! I'd show you a picture but my batteries are dead - I'm about 3/4 done. I'll show you soon!

I got a package in the mail the other day - I wasn't expecting anything, so it was quite a surprise. It was from Carrie, and oh my did she make my day!!!

Some beautiful Christmas fabric, a punchneedle snowman ornament, and CHOCOLATE all wrapped up with the sweetest Christmas ribbon!

PICT1362 1

I told Carrie she's got me hooked on punchneedle now. I want to learn it. I really love the feel of it - as much as I love fabric. It's so neat looking! Oh no, I just had a thought - I suppose now I'll have to search for punchneedle blogs, lol! Isn't he just the sweetest thing?

PICT1366 1

Thank you Carrie, you are such a dear - he's staying in my sewing room where I can see him all the time. *G*

I'm really behind in reading blogs, I hope you'll all forgive me if I don't comment too much for the next couple of weeks. I feel AWFUL reading your blogs and not commenting like I usually do....but I'm having such a hard time typing and scrolling. They're going to have me on the computer every day, doing data entry type work, and I know it's going to hurt and keep me away from my own computer. I'll be glad when I'm done! I'm looking forward to it already, lol. It's only 2 weeks - it's not forever! Y'all be good - I'll be watching! *wink*

Love you! Hang in there and don't worry. We're here, we all know how life is, it happens to all of us.

Good luck, keep well, and just don't work too hard........even if it is just for two weeks.

So sorry you're not feeling well. A tip I just learned about Google reader is that if you hit the space bar, it will advance the post down just enough so you can continue reading. Then when you are at the end of the blog, hit the space bar again and it will take you to the next blog. This might be easier than scrolling. Karen

I love that space bar tip. I'd never heard of it.

Feel better and the most important thing is to let your body heal, esp. with the stress of holidays and the cold weather coming.

(Don't worry about replying, just want you to know that you are thought of!)

I had a pinched nerve once and it was miserable! Hope yours is gone soon!

Hi Allie - I'm sorry that this is wound up painful for you. At least at the end of the assessment hopefully you will know what sort of work you can do most comfortably (hmmm work & comfortable...sounds like an oxymoron to me). Anyway - take good care of yourself and I'll keep you in my thoughts and prayers for a successful completion of this assessment.

Hi Allie!
You just do what you can! We understand...we'll still be here when you are feeling better! Take care and don't do too much...remember it's an assessment of what you can do, not an assessment of how hard you can push yourself. If you are hurting then you shouldn't be doing it!!
Hope your feeling better soon!

Hang in there Allie. Take some Aleve or Advil. I'll miss your sweet comments, but I do know you have to stay on task. Hope everything works out and you will be able to handle the load. Thinking of you and praying for you :-)

Hey girl......don't push yourself too hard. It is called an "accessment" for a reason. Nothing to be diappointed about or fret over.....just keep your sweet spirit about you and you'll be fine. Sending you lots of hugs.

I hope you feel better soon! I am not feeling well either this week. It is not fun is it? I wish you luck with the assessment. I will say a prayer for you.

Stop fretting and relax. The tension and stress is not good - of course you know this.

A little hug for you!

Such a cute punch needle snowman. I have two punch needle kits in a drawer that I haven't done yet. Well, I started one and was not having much luck. Everyone that does those say it is easy.
I used to do data entry a long time ago. I hope you are able to settle into something that you can do and is what you would like.

Sorry to hear you are in pain also. Working has always made me sore LOL. I think my pain is stress related. It's all in my neck and upper back. The stressor areas. I'm feeling a bit better, but still taking heavy meds. I was such a zombie at work today LOL. That was such a nice pkg you rec'd from CArrie :)
You sure have some special friends.
hugs!

Well, I hope at the end of the day, the result is that you find a perfect fit. Getting there may be a bit of a trial, but hopefully worth it in the end!

I love the snowman! I have never done punch needle. It does look fun!

I feel for you. Physical pain is so difficult. Give yourself much love and keep in mind that maybe it is a blessing in disguise, meant to point you in a new direction. Hopefully by the end of the assessment something wonderful and unexpected will be determined... a new path that you otherwise wouldn't have considered. Hang in there!

What a sweet gift. And so nicely wrapped. I hope that you feel better soon - being sore is no fun, especially if it keeps you from your peeps!

I'm sorry to hear about your back and neck problems...that's definitely no fun to deal with. I hope that the assessment will help them figure out the most ideal spot for you!

That needlepunched snowman is absolutely adorable. I first was introduced to needlepunching at the sewing expo and I've always wanted to give it a try

If you have pain from these tasks then it will be a blessing if you don't quality for clerical work.... You write and communicate so well - maybe that's a new direction for you to consider.

Love the punchneedle ornament! Sooooo adorable ;)

So sorry that you are hurting.Pain of any kind sucks! I just love needle punch too but I'm not going to start doing it just yet. Brenda Gervais has a really cool blog and store for needle punch junkies but I don't have the link handy. I'm sure you will find it.

I am missing something here....
mine are just really boring anyway..
what on earth is punch needle.

It amazes me with assements....if they were you, sitting in your place, I wonder how well they would get on?

Remembering how well they are!!!!!

You are very welcome Allie, He sure does look good in his close up shot. lol
Oh man the clerical doesn't sound like it is going to work. You sure don't want to aggravate the your body in other ways. I hope they can use you some other way that works for you. A big hug to make you feel better.
I have been adding some rug hooking blog to my list.

Jan said...

I'm sending you a big hug, Allie, to make you feel better - on second thoughts make that a little hug; a big one might aggravate your hurty bits. Typing can be so hard on the body. I'm sorry you are going through all this - and glad you have a cute little snowman to gladden your heart. xx

I hope you feel better Allie, sometimes it seems as if it is 1 step forward and 2 back. I will say a prayer for you.

Praying that you receive sweet blessings this week and they compensate for the yukky stuff... not long to go now sweetheart... xx

How I love your punchneedle embroidery! I am crazy on punchneedle too... it's very addictive! But it can be a bit tiring to keep doing it for too long. The results are worth it though!!!

Lots of love to you darling Allie!
Hugs & prayers too, Vikki {{Hugs}}x
